  I have used U-haul numerous times over the last 2 to 3 years and have never had to self check in a truck after hours. I was never shown to download an app. I was surprised to see they charged an extra $20 onto my card. When I called to ask about they basically told me that yeah you have to self check in the truck , if you come after hours. and we will charge you $20 dollars.So I rented the truck for 24 hours. Picked up at 530 on a Saturday and brought it back at 530 on a Sunday and when I arrived they were closed. They closed at 5pm. I wasn’t informed that they closed early on Sunday because they were open until 7 on Saturday. So they basically said sorry you misunderstood but that’s we charge and it’s our policy. Very misleading at the store level. But what do they care they are making their money.

  Twice now have received rude attitude from the "manager" and virtually no customer service. I would rate a zero if I could. I arrived to get propane, one employee who looked right at me as I pulled up to the fill station proceeded to walk away with no acknowledgement. As I waited by the fill station three different employees in the garage area, within 20 feet of me, and even looked at me, made no attempt to help or even ask if I needed help. Went in to the lobby area no one in there, went back out to wait by the tank, saw someone go into the lobby area so I went back in, employee walked away as if I was not even there. Back outside now I flagged someone down and asked if anyone was available to fill my propane tank, he said there were people in line in front of me in the lobby, to which I replied I was in the lobby and no one was in there, to which he made no reply and simply walked away, hint later found out he was the manager. Finally a nice young man came and filled me tanks, he was polite but said he was having a bad day.

  Haven't ever had issues. This is the sixth or seventh truck I've rented in the past two years. Honestly should've left a review long ago, lol. Service can be slower at peak times, but what retail environment isn't facing that challenge? They even make concessions when the truck you reserved is not available. In my book, that's great customer service.
