  Movers did not show up, they were supposed to be at my property between 8-8:30 and at 8:45 I started calling to check their status. I finally got a hold of someone at 9:00 and I was told they were in Indiana and their truck was broken down and at the latest they would be to my property by 1:00pm. In the meantime, they were going to try to find someone in my area. I told them I wanted an hourly updates, an hour had past and I heard nothing so I called yet again and had to leave a voicemail. 10:00 came around and I had heard nothing so I called again and they told me they didn't know what was wrong with the truck while I could hear a small child in the background and the man I was talking to telling them to go back to Grandma. I told him that I wanted to speak with the owner and I was told that he didn't have to talk to me. I told him that I expected a call back within a half hour and they finally called back at 3:30 and said they found 3 guys and a Uhaul that would be able to move me shortly. I declined as I already found a reliable company to move my belongings. I do NOT recommend A-1 Movers to anyone, but if you are looking for a reliable moving company I suggest you look into Badger Brothers moving.

  Thanks for your review katelyn however we were broken down with a broken transmission. We were on our way home when we had the issue and we were lucky to be close to my daughters grandparents place so we limped the truck there. As I’m sure you are aware trying to repair a vehicle with a 6 year old child is difficult enough so yes we were at her grandparents. The guys were in communication with you throughout the day as we were attempting to resolve the truck issues and arrange for a crew to move your belongings. You were rude to our movers even as they were doing there best to remedy the situation. And when we were able to get the crew squared away for your move you said “ send the guys over, I won’t be here”.. Things happen and unfortunately we were stranded in Indian for 5 days trying to fix the truck. Regardless I’m happy you were able to get your belongings moved. God bless

  STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!! I used them for my move 4/1/21 after being quoted half the price of 2 men and a truck I have used twice previously. We originally agreed on 2 guys and 1 moving truck for my move at $145 per hour, when they showed up for my move it was 3 guys and 1 truck for an additional $72 an hour. I immediately expressed my concern about the jump in price but the owner assured me the move would go quicker with 3 guys and I would end up paying less at the end. The 3 guys took 4 hours to load my 2 bedroom apartment into the truck which is double the amount of time 2 Men and a Truck took previously on my last 2 moves! During the unloading at my new house there were a couple things we noticed were broken because of a poorly packed truck. Right away I expressed my concern over my new $500 office chair being booked because I work from home and I just purchased this chair. The 3 guys moving me assured me their boss would take care of it and will let me know what he says. After the unloading of the truck I was ASTONISHED to see a $1,305 moving bill! The guy who showed me the bill even said that seems too expressive and went to go talk to his co-workers to figure it out. They came back with a $1,341 bill! I immediately got on the phone with the owner expressing my concern over the bill and he said there is nothing he can do about it. This is the same owner who laughed when I originally told him over the phone 2 Men and a Truck wanted to charge me $1,200 for my move! He even stated if I keep his guys there any longer he will start charging me for their next job! To avoid the 3.5% credit card fee I paid with cash, luckily the guys don’t carry cash on the truck and I got a $41 discount and ONLY paid $1,300... I asked how he was going to fix my broken office chair and he stated the guys moving me will take pictures of the chair and bring him the broken piece, he will order the piece and drop it off at my house. I have called , text and even emailed him over the last 2 weeks with no response! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, I have already reported to the BBB and awaiting on a response. I will update this post when I hear back.

  I had an appointment with then on August 2nd 2021 to move stuff from my storage to my new condo at 9am. We waited for 1.5 hours and never showed up. We tried calling but no answer and no one called us to say they were running late. Call around to see if we could get a different company out there to move my stuff but everywhere was booked. Luckily Badger Brothers said they could do it in a few weeks and about $900 cheaper. Never asking A-1 again..
