My wife and I relocated from Wisconsin to the Portland OR area in July 2020. My wife took care of most of the details of deciding who to use for moving and she picked Allied Van Lines. All the logistical details in making the arrangements went fine. Our driver and main man was Shaun and he brought in a crew to load our stuff into the van. We had done the main packing ourselves. The loading went well- basically a half day. We drove our car to Oregon and arrived late afternoon on the 3rd day. During that day we received a call from Shaun confirming they would be at our new home at 8:30 AM the following day. Shaun and a new crew unloaded everything and put beds and tables back together again. Again, it took about a half day to unload. Only issue was that our outdoor metal patio table had some scratches on it- that was it! Excellent job all around and the cost [which is primarily based on weight] was less than quoted. We did kick in pretty nice tips for the loading and unloading crews- which was extra but, we thought, well deserved. These guys really worked hard- sometimes running from the house to the van! Again, no issues after everything was unpacked. I'd recommend using Allied Van Lines!

Poor communication was the start of issues with Allied. My coordinator went on vacation without updating me on anything nor advising she would be unavailable. When items finally arrived in my new state, I noticed a box, clearly marked FRAGILE, was at the bottom of a tower of boxes. I watched the movers from a window as they unpacked the truck. I was mortified to see them rolling boxes, by shoving them, down the ramp. My kitchen appliances ( instant pot, food processor) were damaged cosmetically from this as well as a broken tv. Once again the non existent communication rears it’s head as I sent photos of these happenings and complained with zero reply back. I will not use them again in the future. **That said, my initial “ loading movers” were amazing and that’s why they get 2 stars!
