  The only part of this experience that wasn't awful was the movers being cool. Super unprofessional and took their time but they were nice. They showed up almost an hour late, didn't bring tools (had to give them a butter knife to remove mirrors), and took 2 1/2 hours to load a bedroom suite, a couch, and 15 boxes. They tried to charge me for 5 hours (loading/drive time/unloading) which would have been $700 but they at least removed the time for them being so late. All of that would have been fine but they also gouged my landlord's flooring and acted surprised when I brought it up to them. If I could share pictures here, I would. It's an obvious gouge from not having anything under the furniture while they were moving. I contacted the owner and he sent me an email saying they would be responsible for "supposedly" damaging the floor but it wasn't supposedly damaged, it WAS damaged. My landlord was nice enough to let it go and the owner won't return my calls anyways. but I HIGHLY recommend avoiding this company. The owner is unprofessional and that is reflected in his workers.

  Our move was a nightmare!! It started with the estimate. The job was grossly under estimated. This caused the packers to need more time to pack instead of the estimated 1 day. The packing was poor. We had to go behind the packers and ensure they got everything. Volume was increased due to a “Atlas” policy that took everything out of drawers. This drove up the volume and cost. The loading of the van was done helter skelter so goods from different rooms we mixed up. Consequently when unloaded the contents for different rooms were mixed up. Boxes were not clearly marked making it undecernable what room they came from. When van was unloaded all our goods were mixed up with very little information on where to place them. The packing crew was disorganized arrived late and stopped early. They were disgruntled with their management. Chris from Appalachian Moving and Storage failed to return calls. When unloaded several items were not rewrapped with paper padding. This will likely cause damage that will go undetected within the 90 day window for claims. The only two good things were van driver who tried to help and Charlie who built the crates for some of our antique items. I will never recommend them!!!

  Appalacian Moving & Storage continually impresses me with their service. I've used them three times now and each time was perfect. They arrived on time and worked very hard to complete my move perfectly. They were very careful with my items, worked very efficiently and professionally. To me, they go above and beyond expectations and I won't hesitate to call them for any future jobs. Thanks Chris and Bobby, you're the best!
