I have used Blackhawk Moving twice to move "locally" while living in Illinois. BOTH times I was beyond impressed. Moving is always a nightmare but their team really made it easy and quick. Both times I used Blackhawk Moving I had professional and kind mover teams. They were fast and had a plan of action once they did a quick survey of my home and things to move. They had all the needed materials on hand and I was thoroughly impressed both times with just how fast the move went. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME AND GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE I've moved across the country more times than I can count. And I have never worked with a worse company! Starting with the estimate, after receiving it. I threw out and donated 2 rooms worth of furniture and even then was told at the end of it that my estimate was 500 lbs lesss than what what it should have been. Which after removing 2 rooms of furniture makes 0 sense. When it came to the packers they hired, they literally threw my stuff into boxes until the halfway point and then stuffed the rest with paper, so that they can use more boxes. The movers themselves have broken the glass shelf in my expensive China cabinet. And Blackhawk is now refusing to pay for it or even take the blame even though I paid for extra insurance and the China was in perfect condition when they packed it and it was upon unpacking that I noticed the shattered glass. So logically the issue happened when it was with the movers. I have been trying to settle this issue for months now and they are refusing to work with me. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME AND GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

I would ask to NOT have Norry's group from Galesburg do the subcontracting for them. When they came they were very nice- good load- I know how to load- BUT when they dropped they were worse than bad- they were mean- that is the only way tp describe it. Heavy bookshelves and big furniture that went on last were left in the middle blocking little stuff at the walls- NOTHING was taken upstairs as was marked, a very meaningful piece of furniture was taken to the old basement and left on the floor with the legs off, heavy boxes on top of the heavy furniture in the middle, leaving barely a walkway- they could have done it better but they were just mean. If it wasn't mean then they are totally incompetent.

As you were not present for the delivery, we followed the diagram and instructions you provided to our team on load day. Our understanding was that you wanted everything placed on the main level of the new home. This was confirmed on delivery day with your daughter supervising the unload. This is not a typical request, particularly with a shipment of your size and the limited space on the main floor. With so many items in the limited space, the only option was to stack. We felt appropriate effort and skill was given to placing, stacking and leaving a pathway to move throughout. The feedback you provided immediately following the delivery was very positive, and felt the help we provided with your auto and dog was an “over and above” effort to please you. Why now, 2 months after delivery are these comments being posted? Would you please contact our GM Eli directly at 815-895-8136?
