  Craig Van Lines The 3 star review is strictly because of the 3 guys that did the actual moving otherwise it would have been ZERO stars!!!! Fred Craig, owner, came out to do the survey. Told us that the walls in the stairwell and floors would be protected with cardboard and the furniture would be wrapped prior to moving into the truck. None of that happened! When my husband mentioned this to the head mover he said in his 25 years of working there they have NEVER done this!!!! When we finally picked Craig for our move called to set up the time, Cindy told us they would have to store furniture overnight because we were moving 60 miles away! WHAT? Fred never ONCE said this would happen and he knew exactly where we were moving to. They agreed to start at 7am instead of 8 so no storing overnight. Movers were 45 minutes late and of course no one was in office to ask where movers were. We received a quote which final price would be determined by final weight. A couple days before move received from the office paperwork for the move and “here’s the amount you will give the movers.” Did NOT match the amount that we received from Fred was in fact more money. Called the office and Deligny was very rude and made it MY problem to get her that quote that her boss, who works in same office, gave me. Instead of saying “let me look into it and I will get back to you”, she made it my problem to get her the information saying “this is what I got from Fred I have no idea what he sent you as a quote”. Before the movers would unload the truck into our new house they were to be paid as they did the final weight of the truck. Again, NO ONE could tell us why the difference in the price. My husband and the head mover spent an hour trying to figure it out with someone, anyone in the office. Before Fred left our house house he said, “Here’s my card call ME if you have any questions”! We called 3 times prior to the move each time asking Fred to call us. Crickets!!!! When the issue with the bill became a problem, left many messages for Fred. He did not return ONE SINGLE PHONE CALL! Moving is stressful to begin with and Craig Van Lines added to it! Non responsive, rude, promises made that had no intention of keeping. The movers were great, management and office staff, not at all!

  Craig van lines moved me from my home of 37 years to my retirement community. The movers wore their masks the entire time and they were familiar with the retirement community, The Wellington In Gainesville, VA I moved to. They followed all the mandated safety protocols the community has. They moved everything without breaking anything and even put my bed together for me.

  The women who are answering the phone were rude and not interested in work apparently. I emailed on a follow up to an estimate a couple days later and never got a response so I called and left a message again no response. When I finally got someone on the phone they said they were booked up and couldn't help me even though when I got the estimate they said it wouldn't be an issue. Unorganized and in need of better communication at minimum.
