  I was disappointed in my experience given all the positive reviews and wanted to share for others a word of caution. I was initially impressed as came out and provided reasonable quote. Had been worried about the move due to the weather, but unfortunately there were no other immediate days around and I didn’t have a lot of flexibility to change. The movers seemed to try hard and worked quickly, unfortunately there was damage to both my front door frame and two pieces of furniture. When I followed up they said typically they don’t cover exterior damage, but just this once would make an exception and provide a $40 credit. Then with the two pieces of furniture they said I elected the basic insurance even though I don’t remember a discussion, the insurance provides $0.60 coverage for damage per pound estimated so altogether got a credit of $160. I am paying $200 for repair of the furniture and will need to see how much the door will cost. I encourage people to ask about the insurance policy and note had three major items damaged during the move. They were adequate, but can’t give a strong recommendation. Edit to reply: I feel the need to reply to the response by the company. After following up on the initial review and offering to help find a way to remedy our door they never followed up or followed through. Additionally, they said they provided extra support and at no cost, what actually happened is extra support was provided and then they tried to bill that without any communication prior and only when confronted was I offered the option to not be charged. There are other companies that I have had better experiences with and encourage people to look elsewhere. In fact the gentleman who repaired our furniture says he contracts with over 50 moving companies to address when damage happens, this company is not one and seems to dismiss problems or concerns.

We wish we could have provided an exceptional move experience and are very sorry this was not the case. We understand that move dates are not always flexible for our clients, and moving during a snowstorm can come with a few obstacles. Our addition of an extra mover at no extra cost, to mitigate the effects that the bad weather would have on the move, did allow us to finish the job in less than the estimated amount of time. Our operations manager was also present to assist with any potential problems that could arise from the snow as well. We make every effort to inform customers of our policies, including our insurance information, included on your account page and Customer Information Packet and apologize if that was not communicated.   I have worked with Jake at Division 1 Moving & Storage for about 2 years now - and have used Division 1 services for 3 moves within this time frame (from residence to storage, storage to residence, and residence to residence). Every time I schedule a move, Jake and his team are extremely responsive, efficient, professional, and flexible (something I really value especially in these times) from start of project to finish. It's clear each mover I have worked with has really great experience. They are careful moving every item regardless of its value. For my first move with Division 1, they packed up my entire apartment. Everything was labeled properly and packaged beautifully so I was confident my items were safe. My latest move was the smoothest ever (not even sure how that could be possible!!) - special thanks to Dmitri and Chris. I am so grateful to have found this company and would highly recommend their moving services. Looking forward to doing business with Division 1 for my next move, whenever that will be. I did not use their storage facility so I cannot comment on that. Thank you!!!

  From Jake through the entire D1 team, everyone was friendly and professional. I was kept updated on status throughout, from packing to goods in transport, to delivery times/dates. The teams were always punctual and worked extremely hard. We moved a 4 bedroom home without a single item being broken or missing. I highly recommend D1 for your next move!
