  While, I am not happy with the recent rate increases, I would like to give a special shoutout to Monique in the front office for her professionalism and great customer service. She patiently listened to my rant and handled my call with the utmost respect. I can only imagine the calls she receives on a daily basis, yet she handled my call as if I were the only call of the day. She went over and beyond to accommodate my concerns. 10 Thumbs Up to her and the staff. You guys definitely deserve a raise for your professional attitudes when dealing with a disgruntled customer like myself! My Concern....I Rented a 10x10 storage unit in August of 2020. My rent started out at $140/mos. In April 2121, I received notice of a $22 monthly rate increase. In November 2021, I receive an email informing me that the facility was bought out by Extra Space Storage and my new rate would be $164/mos. No big deal as it was only a $2.00 increase. Now it is March 2022 and I have just received notice of another rate increase which will raise my monthly rent from $164 to $243!!!! This is INSANE as I know bank interest rates are low and the owners mortgage is definitely not going up. What is even more confusing is, I have a friend who also has a 10x10 unit just around the corner from my unit, yet they only pay $133/mos and DID NOT receive a rate increase. We both rented our units within a couple months of each other and While I am happy that my friend isn't faced with the same astronomical price increases, it makes me wonder why some units are receiving large monthly increases while others receive little or none at all. I was told the increase was based on the comparable prices and fair market value in the area. However, if that were the case wouldn't all renters have received the same rate increases? Unless, I can get my rate lowered, I will be moving to another location with better rates in an effort to save that extra money to give to someone else in need. I wouldn't mind paying the extra if I were told it was going to help other customers who struggling to pay their fees.
