Buyer beware. These guys are terrible. Absolutely terrible. First, they came with a tiny truck to move a two-bedroom house, so what would have been a one-trip move with the right sized truck turned into a three-trip move, which meant they worked longer and charged more. They scratched the furniture and banged the walls. Then, when it came time to pay, they refused to take anything other than cash, after they told me over the phone that they would take a check. My employer was paying to move me and had given me a check for the agreed-upon amount, which had already been upped by the truck fiasco, so I had already spent the day trying to figure out how to get a second check only to then be told they lied to me on the phone and wouldn't take checks. And the whole time we were trying to work this out, the guys stopped working (can't say I blame them, since they must have been wondering if they were going to get paid) but the clock on the billing time kept running. As if moving day weren't already stressful enough, these guys made it so much worse. Avoid if you can.

Quite possibly the worst moving company ever. Certainly one of the worst I've ever used. They claimed they had boxes available, and packed loose items- they don't. However, as I was deploying in less than a week, I had no choice but to take what I can get and not turn them away. They dragged my furniture down the steps, knocking it against railings and doorways with no care. When it began to hail, they thought it best in carrying out my leather couches without cover- resulting in damage of course. Once they moved all the furniture to the storage unit I told them that items had been damaged and I wanted compensation- they took their payment and said their manager would contact me with claims paperwork. He never did. Not only was I ignored, but whenever I called, they simply did not answer, nor did they return my messages. They just waited until I was overseas and no longer their problem. I would rather drag my furniture across town alone than hire Gentle Movers ever again. (Review is for services provided 23JAN15- to date, still no claims paperwork from them)

I hired gentle movers to unload my POD on August 2nd. I have a deployed husband and a 2 year old and just didn't want to mess with the hassle of trying to unload it. I scheduled at 4pm because we'd still be traveling to town and I didn't want them to be waiting on me if I hadn't made it yet. At 4:30 there was still no sign or call from the company, so I called them. He said they got backed up from a previous job and would be about 20/30 minutes. I said that was fine and told them to bring a furniture dolly because my washer and dryer needed to go upstairs. They finally showed up at 5:40 (mind you my appointment was at 4). They also showed up without a dolly. He said it was okay they could carry it upstairs. The first thing to take out of the pod was the washer/dryer. They carried it through the garage and up 4 wooden steps. However-by the 3rd step, my dryer got dropped 3 times. Between being an hour and 40 minutes late, and the fact that I specifically told them my laundry room was upstairs, and they still didn't bring a dolly-put me over the edge. I called a friend and he recruited 5 other guys who came over and had my pod unloaded in 20 minutes-without dropping anything. Still had to pay these two guys $150 for 3 hours (however when I booked on the phone I was told 2 hours). The only reason they got my full money was because I was on the verge of crying and wanted them off my property-I also didn't appreciate them smoking. I was really looking forward to this company because of the reviews-but I can't express how disappointed I was. I hope other people have better results.
