Very nice folks and interesting information on local attractions. We bought some local t shirts and such and enjoyed our visit. We enjoyed learning the 1835 story of "Come and take it" as the original start of Texas independence from Mexico.

I was thinking of visiting the jail in Gonzales and now I am extremely happy it was closed. Why? Because I met one of the sweetest people in my life. Her name is Martha and she works at the front desk of the Chamber of Commmerce. Marth thank you for our interesting conversation. You have a heart of gold and a big future ahead of you.

Great history. This is actually the county jail and museum. Very well maintained, great displays throughout history, and passionate advocates of the history there to guide you and tell you all about it. A must stop and see. Many surprises.
