After multiple military moves with some of the worst companies the government hires, Interstate takes the cake as the absolute worst. Not a single part of my move went well or smoothly and this compay's extreme incompetence has made me decide to just do self moves in the future for fear of being assigned this company again. Areas of failure: -Did not deconflict the packing crew with the driving crew (I had to do that myself), both packing and driving crews arrived late and did not adhere to covid protocols (back when they were still in place). -Driving crew did not do advance information gathering and was going to try to bring an 18 wheeler in to my apartment complex (I, luckily, prevented this). Would this have happened it would have caused issues and dragged the pack-out well in to the night. -Driver called me enroute and admitted to breaking some of my stuff and wanted to settle under the table so I wouldn't submit a claim. -Even though there were three separate conversations and an EXPLICIT date and time stated, the Interstate agent lied to me and said they scheduled a delivery time when they had not. -My stuff did not arrive on the agreed upon date and time and Interstate was unreachable. I ended up scheduling my delivery from another local storage company myself. -Nearly every single box and item I own had some sort of damage. Overall I estimated about $3,000 in damages on only about $10,000 of possessions. -During the claims process the agent was completely unresponsive unless I cc'd the entire claims department, forcing them to do their job. -They were given two days to provide information to military claims adjusters and they took over seven. -Throughout everything the communication was nigh absent or unhelpful. If you are a civilian, find another company. If you are military and get assigned Interstate, either try to swap to another company or opt for a self move. Below are just a few photos and do not detail the full scope of the damage or the hassle it was dealing with them to try to get them to correct their errors. Response to "Owner" below: I was told that she was involved in my issues while I was having them. So which is, was she involved and chose not to intercede or was I lied to and she was never told? Y'all have my phone number, and I made clear to several people at the time my discontent and nothing was done then to resolve it. My matter is now with the military adjudicators so what purpose would it serve contacting you now?

We had an amazing moving experience. The girls came and packed the kitchen the day before. Way faster then I could have. The whole team was great. Hugo was the lead and he was patient and kind. Everyone did a great job and took amazing care of our personal belongings. I don't know how they do it! Thanks to Larry for getting us set up and checking on us through the process. Definitely would recommend interstate to anyone moving.

      Response from the owner

Our experience with Interstate Van Lines, Springfield, Va was just great. After having about a dozen moves in the military, I was expecting some issues but there were none. All furniture from a 2900 sq ft house was undamaged. We have unpacked more than 70 boxes and only 3 lamp shades are damaged. The support I received from staff and the driver at our destination was wonderful. I want to especially point out how well Michelle Marin represented the company. She was always very responsive and simply a pleasure to work with. The driver, Jerry, who delivered and unloaded our household goods at our new location was really good and so pleasant to be around. The packers at our departure point were hard working and very personable. I highly recommend the company.

      Response from the owner

John, thank you for the 5-star rating! It’s great to hear about the professional service and care you received from our move coordinator, packers, driver and move crew. We know that you wouldn't trust your belongings with just anyone and it's something we take very seriously. We're so happy that we exceeded your expectations and appreciate your business and the recommendation!
