  I was very happy with the entire team at the Moving and Storage Center of Long Island from my first phone call with Bob to the unpacking and placement of my furniture by their team of movers. Everyone that I dealt with took the time to make sure I was happy and they truly went above and beyond to make sure the entire move was done right. Their pricing was very fair, their entire staff was extremely professional and they did a great job making sure we were happy with the furniture placement. I highly recommend speaking to them before your next move!

  BEWARE of The Moving & Storage Center of LI. We were initially impressed by the reviews and video (does not reflect the business currently) on their website we had Bob (the owner) came to our home to give us an estimate to pack, store, and then move us to another state. All of which were underestimated! Bob stated that his higher fees compared to other companies were because he’s reputable, in a safe location, and that he would handle our move from end to end. Bob even talked us out of insurance saying they never have issues and you only get pennies on the dollar. Initially they dropped off boxes at the house however once we went to their location for more boxes, we could see that the building was run down and there were a ton of other trucks (moving and other companies parked on the grounds). We voiced concern as to more exposure to our belongings from various outside sources but Bob assured us that he’s never had theft and he subleases space. On moving day, we were supposed to be informed the weight of the house contents were (weight=$). We never received a call however received a bill for higher than we agreed without warning. This company is completely disorganized. Once we had a closing date we called to arrange the move to the new house. Bob never us called back, we called him back and he said to call another company he uses (Maffucci Storage Corp. -2nd company) as he doesn’t have other moves our way. We called Maffucci and signed a contract with them. Days before our move we get a random call from “Jose” asking where he’s picking up our belongings and asking how much stuff I have, and where is it going? We call Maffucci and ask if they “sold” our move, they insist that this guy was one of theirs (not true- 3rd company was Coastal Express Moving). The day that our belongings were supposed to arrive we receive a call from Jose saying the truck broke down and they are waiting on a repair. Our entire house full of belongings is sitting in the southern heat (after paying for everything to be in climate control for months). We finally get a late call saying they won’t arrive until the next day (truck broke down a second time) and Jose & a woman that show up. We see that boxes are crushed and our belongings are piled to the ceiling (Jose shows me pictures of the boxes from The Moving & Storage Center of LI that were crushed before he touched them). They furiously are unpacking and we ask if they are going to have more help. Everything that was packed, disassembled from Bob’s crew, this crew knew NOTHING about. Several of our furniture pieces (many antiques) were cracked, latches broken, doors jammed because of the way they were handled. Finally, father & son day laborers show up (4th “company”) and were on their game. At the end of the move, I find out that Coastal is trying to screw the day laborers and not pay them properly. They are arguing in the driveway of our new house in public that I’ve barely moved into! As we unpack we realize we are missing; 9 lamps (the lamp shades made it), an expensive ladder, a folding table, etc. When we call Bob from The Moving & Storage Center, first he tells me to call Maffucci (the company that didn’t touch my stuff) and the finger pointing begins. The story changes to everything went on the truck, then when we point out the ladder wouldn’t have fit in the storage unit size, he suddenly “finds it". Bob and his wife start minimizing our losses, the broken furniture, the outsourcing, etc. They are completely incompetent and unprofessional. We received nasty disparaging emails from Bob’s wife Roxann (his office Manager) after trying to reason with Bob on a settlement (which we never got). Moving is one of the top most stressful things a person can endure and the experience with The Moving & Storage Center of LI made this move unbearable and depressing. The move cost over $4,000 more than we were told, surely so each company could make more money. Stay away from this company!

  Rob and his team have been absolutely amazing! They moved me out of my NJ apartment into one of their storage units. When the movers arrived they were on-time, extremely professional, careful with my items, and fast. They truly made my move out a breeze. Every item was carefully wrapped up with blankets and plastic wrap to protect it during the move. They even took an extra box of mine that I was going to move but was too heavy for me. They moved everything directly into the storage unit for me as well. It was so convenient and helpful to have both moving and storage! I cannot say enough great things about my moving experience. Rob’s pricing was fair and he has been a pleasure to work with. I will be using them for my next move and will be recommending everyone I know. Thank you Rob and thank you to your team!!!
