Service was so bad that they were removed from Thumbtack’s platform. They caused $2,960.36 worth of damage and refuse to cooperate at all, they’ve just stopped answering phone calls and responding to messages. I’m going to try to keep this as short as I can, but I want to give enough detail so that prospective clients know what they are getting into and don’t have to go through what we’re currently dealing with. We hired Pixel Moving Company to help us move in on Saturday, June 27th. My boyfriend and I had purchased our first home and had just had remodeling done so we were excited to finally move in. After moving every summer for the past nine years, we decided to treat ourselves and hire movers. This was my first time hiring movers, and needless to say I will never be doing that again. The movers caused major damage trying to get the 3-person section of our couch from the fire escape and into the living room. We had been standing out of their way, and we realized it was taking them a long time to come back. When we poked our heads around the corner, the majority of the damage in our condo was already done. They caused a hole in the wall, multiple scratches and peeled paint, and scratches on the floor in our condo. We asked them if they could try the front door. My boyfriend walked them through the front door and stairwell and asked if they thought they'd be able to get it up the stairs and they said yes. They then tried taking the couch up the stairs through the front door. No damage happened on their way up the stairs, but once they realized they could not get it all the way up the stairs, they scratched up a wall, broke a window, and made a hole in the ceiling on their way out. In their haste they got the couch stuck on its side by the front door, a place where it should have been easy to get out. We heard the couch crack loudly multiple times and there are now multiple tears in the couch. After this they brought the couch back up the fire escape and left it in the first bedroom that leads to the fire escape. We agreed to pay 75% of the amount due (stupid on my part, I know, I definitely regret that now). My boyfriend and my father were able to get the couch into the living room about 10 minutes after the movers left without causing any damage. It was easy for them, all they had to do was take some time to think about it instead of trying to just force it through. I’m not posting a photo of the couch because I don’t want Pixel getting credit for it. Pixel said they have insurance and will send people out to fix everything. We compromised to have Pixel be responsible for the building common areas and we will use our own contractor for the damage in the condo. We had just finished renovations on June 24th. The renovations were only a few days old. Even making this compromise, Pixel was rude and tried to claim it wasn’t their fault that we “asked movers to push an oversized sofa even while you saw it wouldn’t fit”. We did not ask them to push it, and the first part of the damage happened before we could even say anything about it. I then told them that we got the couch in on our own with no damage and they seemed to cooperate for a bit. Long story short, the window repair people broke the window a second time. We contacted Pixel and they claimed no responsibility and told us to work with the window company directly. We were able to buy the necessary pieces for the frame and fixed it ourselves. We were able to figure out how to fix the frame from a simple Google search. Pixel did not do any research on who they hired and were just trying to choose the cheapest option they could find. All Pixel has done is cause unnecessary damage and stress, and frankly should not be in business if they are not going to take responsibility for their actions. I have spent literally hours of my time trying to remedy this situation. They turned what was supposed to be an exciting time into a nightmare. Great way to meet the neighbors I guess.

Very Professional, helpful, friendly, and reasonable. They figured out how to park the truck easily, they wrapped the couches and the glass desks to avoid any damages. They worked super hard in the 95 degrees weather. Would definitely hire again for the next move and 1000% recommend!

-1000 STAY AWAY!!! This company is committing insurance fraud. They moved me on 3/30/21 (3 wks ago) and as a result tore my box spring in 4 areas, didn't screw my 4th bed slab; the latch to my sofa chaise is missing (thus causing it to separate); and basically assembled the legs incorrectly causing problems with weight distribution THEY refused to refund my money and/or pay for damages. I reached out to the insurance company that they supposedly had insurance with and the gentleman said THEY ARE NOT INSURED AND COMMITTING FRAUD. It's a criminal felony as I just filed a police report and they're being investigated all for not wanting to reimburse me. They (Ella) would not answer calls and decided to ignore my concerns. I also filed a complaint with the better business bureau. Next, they probably aren't even licensed so reporting that to Secretary of State. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!! THEY ACTUALLY HAVE THE AUDACITY TO RESPOND TO MY REVIEW BUT NOT ASHAMED THAT THEY'RE CRIMINALS. 3WKS AFTER MOVE TO NOTICE TORN AREAS THAT WOULD NOT BE VISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE IS NOT UNREASONABLE AT ALL. I DON'T GO LOOKING UNDER COUCHES TO SEE IF SOMETHING WAS DONE WRONG. I THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL I CHANGED THE BOTTOM BEDSHEET AND DISCOVERED THE DAMAGE. THE SAD PART IS THEIR INSENSITIVITY LED ME TO FURTHER CHECK FOR MORE POTENTIAL DAMAGES. UNFORTUNATELY, I FOUND PROBLEMS WITH COUCH, BUT WORSE YET; I FOUND I WAS DEALING WITH CRIMINALS COMMITTING FRAUD. NOW THAT'S INSANE!!! P.S. A LOT OF GOOD REVIEWS ARE FROM FRIENDS AND EMPLOYEES. JOKERS

      Response from the owner

Unreasonable review since the job was done a month ago There is a reasonable timeframe to make a complaint and its definitely not a month. On your moving day everything was fine and great and after a month you just decided to check that some furniture wasn’t assembled properly. That the screws wasn’t as tight as you expected. That’s ridiculous. After all of that you want a reimbursement of $1400, plus refund for the move +$50 for god knows only what. Why not $5000? For loose screws? Just insane
