  So many hidden fees- and on top of that, we were told they were holding our pod and we just had to call a day or two before we needed it. We told them the day we needed to move out by, and when we’d need it. We then called to ask for the delivery, only to be told that they do not have any pods available. We were completely screwed over by this company the week of our move- be cautious with them! *we were assigned to the Virginia Beach location for our (nonexistent) pod- but that didn’t show up on Google map so leaving this review on the only pod location in south Hampton roads. It’s possible it is not related to this location directly.

  I was satisfied with pods in the beginning. When we first got our POD in Texas we thought it was great because we could pack it and take some of the pain out of the moving process. Once the POD arrived in VA Beach, the experience went extremely downhill. The first time we went to our POD, there was no one available to answer any questions, even though there was a sign on the door with the number for help. No one answered. We drove around the facility for 15 minutes looking for our POD. The only reason we found it was because of our lock. Customer service at corporate brushed off the inconvenience, saying “ that’s odd they’re not answering”. They didn’t answer the phone or the door any of the times we visited. Fast forward to this week, my POD was scheduled to be delivered on the 2nd Friday in December. However; it arrived a whole week early and at 6am! I immediately called corporate when they opened and they had no explanation for me since on paper my delivery was scheduled for the next week! Highly inconvenient as I had people working in my house who now could not access my drive way. PODS could not come and pick it up until 5 days from now. I’m glad this didn’t happen when the previous tenants we’re living in my house! Lastly, I opened my POD and started removing boxes, only to find tons of rat droppings on almost every box/bin in my POD. I was told PODS facilites maintained pest control and that was a lie. I feel scammed by PODS and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. I hope my home is not affected by this.

  I did used PODS for Home Storage and it did works very well for me. Even under the heavy rain, all my stuff stayed dry, that was important for me. The price was competitive, the size was perfect (even felt bigger than expected) and the service was very good/nice.
