My experience with PODS has been nothing short of a nightmare. I was given a POD with a door that was jammed shut and because I informed them two days after delivery, was not helped and reached my pickup date 5 days later still without anyone coming out to open it, replace it, or reach out to me at all , I was supposed to get a full refund for the $660 I paid. However, the phone rep I spoke to was manually adding up the transactions they showed for me on PODs end and insisted that I was only owed $430 but couldn't tell me why. He said I should see it in about 5 days - or just before Christmas. The pickup of the empty container didn't happen that week because the company alleged that I didn't answer my phone and that they would have to expand the pickup out by a week. Christmas came and went and still I had heard and received nothing. I called in and was told that the reps who initially processed my refund wrote one amount in his notes and another in the system for my refund amount ($430 and $107 respectively). They picked up the POD on the 28th, and told me on the phone shortly afterwards when I inquired that I hadn't received the refund yet because it had been sent to an agent for investigation and that agent had gone on vacation. The investigation was apparently because they couldn't figure out anymore how much to refund me even though I could see the two debits to my account totalling the $660 a week apart from each other. They didn't inform me of any penalty and so it just seemed as though nobody at the company could add the two debits together correctly. I was assured that a new agent would be assigned to investigate it and I would hear from them soon. Another week has passed and although I haven't heard from the second agent, I am now getting random $250 charges to my bank account from PODS. The container was dropped off and picked up all within a month and it was picked up empty and in the same condition they brought it in. There has been no explanation for either this new charge or the missing $660 refund and I am truly furious. I already had to spend money on a traditional moving company when the POD was defective and I knew that they could never get another one out to me in time, but now, they have managed to jeopardize my move, mine and my son's Christmas, and our lives in a new place with their billing issues, defective products, ignoring of their contractual obligations (they're supposed to check that the door opens before they leave it on your property) and lack of communication. I wouldn't recommend PODS to anyone for any reason. Who likes to throw away money right before the holidays and recieve nothing in return?

I rented a POD for a move on 11/6. Reserved it way ahead of schedule and had all the pickups and drop-offs scheduled ahead of time like they asked. My POD was picked up by a janky truck that broke down on my street. I was told by the driver that a tow truck would come get the truck and my POD and take it to their yard to be taken off and put on another truck and that someone would contact me. Hours later I had still not received a call so I called customer service which was an hour hold time just to be told that I cannot speak with anyone that actually works at the office where I was serviced from and that they are already gone home for the day. The next day my POD did show up but I had no idea that it was going to because the supervisor at the Shepherdsville location did not reach out to me like he was supposed to. I called and filed a complaint with PODS and was told I would be contacted within 3 business days. Here it is 3 weeks later and I'm still waiting. To top it all off I checked my credit card statement and I was charged another months rental THE DAY AFTER it was picked up. So now I get to waste my time and call back to PODS an wait longer on the phone. We also rented a 26 ft uhaul that day and would have been better off just getting 2 and not having the POD and it would have been a way less stressful experience at a fraction of the cost. I DO NOT recommend.

I had a similar experience as Charon Wisemen. Two PODs were scheduled for pick up on 11-5. Only one was picked up. When I asked the driver about the other he stated that a truck had broke down and it would be picked up the next day. After 4-5 missed pick ups and countless hours on the phone with support telling the story over and over it was finally picked up nearly a week later. The new owner of our house was furious and I don't blame them. Neither the facility nor PODs support ever reached out to me. I initiated all contact and had to push daily. I also filed a formal complaint around 11-9 and just heard back for the first time last week.
Response from the owner
We certainly don’t like to see this, Erik. If you’d like to chat, please email [email protected] with your customer ID and additional details.
