**Edit based on reply from Quincy Storage. I pride myself on being calm and professional in all aspects of my life. Your reply about me yelling and screaming is not true. I simply came in and explained exactly what I wrote below. It’s been disappointing working with Quincy storage. We did a big move from NC to Quincy and have two units. When we moved we specifically identified which items and boxes we wanted in the smaller unit with bright red tape around each box(Xmas/holiday items, tools, etc). They assured us the items would be separated. That didn’t happen and we had to hunt between both units to find items. Second, my credit card was compromised and I wasn’t billed for 3 months, once I realized I hadn’t been billed *I* called and gave them my updated billing information and they properly charged my card for the missed months. Now 20 days later I go to empty one unit and both locks are changed. I’m assuming that happened in the months we weren’t billed, but I would expect a phone call and I’d stop by that day to take care of it. And after I pay for the remaining balance it would’ve been nice to have my keys work again! I’m sure there’s better options with more organized services in town.

Yes, we did facilitate a big move from NC to Quincy for you. We successfully moved 20,000 pounds of furniture; over 600 items. When all of your belongings did not fit in your new home, we stored them in our warehouse for you. When you wanted to move the items into a ministorage unit, we moved them to a unit for you. Apparently, the movers did not see some of the tags. Second, we do not call people who do not pay their bills. It is up to the tenant to pay rent. We want to keep our costs as low as possible so we can keep the cost of the units down for our tenants. Calling everyone takes time and costs money. When you did not pay, we locked the unit. Unfortunately, the ministorage manager's husband recently passed away and she missed a few minor things. Unlocking your unit was one item. When you came into the office screaming and yelling about your unit, we promptly unlocked it. When I pointed out that maybe you should have a little compassion toward others, none was shown. Especially, when the new widow was five feet from you! Overall, we think we did a very good job for you.

The most professional, best service we could have imagined especially knowing that moving is such a stressful process. We are very thankful for the excellent service and plan on using them again as well as recommending this company to our friends and colleagues.

      Response from the owner

Thank you so much for the positive feedback. We look forward to working with you in the future.

My wife past away and we had a storage unit and I went to pay it so I can get our stuff out and they took the money but wouldn't unlocked the unit only couple days late then my wife ex family went there when I went to talk to my lawyer about it and they gave them our stuff and I have family pictures that could not be replaced and my kids stuff and lots of tools I used on jobs and they won't take responsibility for what they did. I would never go there again are tell people to go there they don't care about your stuff just money they can get out of you and that not good bussiness don't go here

      Response from the owner

The unit in question was not rented by this man. This man was not married to the woman. The woman who rented the unit passed away and when multiple people called wanting access to the unit, we informed all of them that we need documentation from the courts that they are next of kin, per the requirements from the state of Illinois. We only gave access to the unit to the people who provided documentation from the Coroner. We protect our customers and their rights and follow the requirements of the state.
