  Quoted price with Office Manager, Jasmine became almost double the price with Crew Leader, Antonio. My move was scheduled for 8AM. Antonio and his partner were 2 hours and 40 minutes late. After 2 hours of no response, I get a text message from Antonio stating they had got caught up with another move that was scheduled the same morning. Antonio informed me through text shortly before arriving that there was a truck rental and gas fee which he noticed wasn’t on the original quote. It was understandable and I was totally fine with that. Things starting going left when they arrived and started up-charging on a lot of items that was already discussed with Jasmine and written in the contract. I was charged a long distance fee, long carry fee from driveway which the truck was parked right in front of the door, charged double the price to take down and reassembled beds and other furniture, and the stair fee was triple the price that was quoted. I was completely taken back when the $700 quote turned into $1475. I’d budgeted $1000 for this move, as the move to the area a year prior with a different company was $800 (same furniture, miles, setup). I thought this budget gave enough cushion for tips and any oversight with billing. I begin to question the charges and asked for an itemized bill; Antonio became agitated. He went on a rant about how moving takes a toll on their bodies and how it wasn’t an easy job then went on the state that the final bill wasn’t up for discussion. Overall, they took great care of my items and did an excellent job moving. I believe they could improve on punctuality (if not on time - communicating delays), communication amongst each other and the client, giving accurate quotes, and throughly explaining charges with presenting itemized billing. I had no problem paying the bill, but on a customer service standpoint I would’ve appreciate an explanation and/or adequate upfront pricing for budgeting and planning purposes. Moving is always a hassle and if your looking for movers, you want to ensure they have your best interest in mind. In an industry where you have a lot of competitors, customer service is the only thing that can set you apart. If your upfront about it, no one would mind paying more for a great experience and exceptional service. Unfortunately, the overall experience was one that won’t allow me to use this company in the foreseeable future or suggest to family and/or friends. I do wish them a prosperous journey with growth professionally.

  My storage container was 2 hours late arriving and Roanoke Movers was able to work around that easily. They were always prompt with communication and the guys were efficient and careful with all our items and furniture. Cannot recommend enough!
