  Overall, I would recommend SEKA moving. However, I have a few grievances. I have moved quite a bit and I highly recommend using a moving company. So when I decided to move from NY to FL, I knew I needed a reliable moving company. I was swayed by the reviews and professionalism of SEKA Moving (Ben/Anne specifically). Their rate was fair and competitive. They were transparent about costs and the 12 business day delivery window. I just didn't expect to receive my furniture nearly 4 weeks from the pick up date (approximately 5 days after the delivery window). In addition, while I understand that normal wear and tear during a long distance move is normal, I was disappointed that several pieces of furniture we damaged by the tape adhesive used during pick up. While the movers were efficient and professional, they were also careless and should be more mindful of this moving forward. I am sure SEKA would have been a 10/10 for a local move but if you are moving states away, I recommend managing your expectations regarding delivery and be more vigilant when they are wrapping up your belongs.

  We did quite a bit research on the moving companies in NY and then decided to choose Seka, with our friend's recommendation. I was a bit nervous about the moving one night before. In the morning of the moving day, they called us about 15 mins earlier to give us an update of their arrival time, which was in the time window. The crew were very professional, efficient and quick. They wrapped the furniture carefully and loaded everything quickly. The second day they arrived at our new place and downloaded everything very quickly. They put everything exactly to the designate spots and also installed the furniture, piano and TV properly. We were very impressed. Though moving took two days and they worked so hard, they neither asked for a tip nor mention for a tip. We could not say more than thank you, Nick from Georgia, Nicolai, Alex ! Also the sales representative Kristin. Because of you, we had a great moving experience. We will certainly use Seka again when we move next time!

  It's been a year (I never write reviews) but I just moved again so it was top of mind. I moved from Astoria to East Harlem. Seka was easy to contact and offered a good rate for the move so I booked with them. They took my deposit. The week of my move I repeatedly called and called and left messages---I never received a call back, a response, or an email. Luckily enough I was able to book with another company the day before I moved. I'd read great reviews, so I'm not sure what happened here.
