We requested a cross country door-to-door delivery to Valiant Movers. The cost was around $3,000 dollars. You are paying for any, and I repeat, ANY method or steps the items undertake during the delivery. For example, if the movers take the elevator down to the garage and walk out of your garage to the car, there will be 2 charges. If the walk from the garage is longer than movers taking the stairs, who cares, let them take the stairs. You can't be civil with these costs. If you're worried your furniture or boxes possibly being damaged throughout the process,.. I'm sorry.. either way, it'll cost ya. Because in our experience, our items were being stuff in a gigantic truck along with many other people's item, and no you cannot pay-in to have your items on the top. There's simply nothing that could be done.

Never ever do business with these companies, Purple Heart or Valiant Movers. I had several issues, so this will be long, but that is the gist of what the point is. First, Purple Heart is not a moving company. They are what’s called a “broker.” They are simply a third party that goes between you and the movers. They have no real power over the moving company and they have no idea about pricing. They would ask us what our inventory was for our move and continually reassured us that we were under square footage. This turned out not to be the case and we had to pay around $800 more than we were quoted. If we had gone directly through the moving company, the movers, Valiant Movers, told us that we would have gotten almost double the amount of space in the truck for what we were paying. The movers said they couldn’t quote us a price based on the items in our house, saying they would tell us the price once the items were loaded. They said the price quote was just based on an eyeball estimate once in the truck. There was no actual measurements. This meant that my items would be loaded and my items basically hostage for me to pay whatever they requested. Our items were picked up November 29. Our movers took down our expected date of arrival and noted that we were arriving the very next day. They said that they would try to get it out faster, and they expected 3-7 days. Purple Heart said that cross country moves take up to 10 days. After 10 days we called Purple Heart and they advised us that they actually meant business days. After the 10 business days we called again. They said that 10 business days was more of a guideline but that there are no guarantees. I called and left several messages over several days for Valiant Movers, and I never received a call back. The next day I called Purple Heart again and they advised me that the movers had placed our items in storage back in California and couldn’t find a driver to move the things to Idaho for us but that they were still working on it. I understand that maybe my final destination was not a popular one and that Valiant would want a full truck to make it worth their while. However, I don’t really think it’s my problem after so long and that they probably should have just gotten my move done after the 10 business days. Later, I was emailing with Purple Heart about the time issue. They said that they were expecting the truck to be loaded soon and to expect our items in 5-7 days. I was quoted December 18-20 for arrival. Not wanting to trust any timelines, I called to double check. The person in the phone said that would actually be business dates. 5-7 business days. That date, for those following along, would have been Christmas Day. I told the attendant on the phone there is no way we would be receiving our items on Christmas Day and she agreed that was just the timeline and that it would likely be delivered at a later date. After telling her we would be out of the state until January 6, she agreed that the items needed to be delivered the Saturday before we left. That is today. Valiant called in the morning and set a 4-5pm time window. At 5:15 we called them to ask if they were still coming and they said 10 minutes. They called us at 5:35 to tell they were stopping for dinner. They arrived at 6:25 and told us we would need to pay an additional $75 because of stairs, despite the fact that stairs were meant to be included in our contract. Valiant Movers said they would have to mark it as a non-delivery and put it in storage which is my nightmare. We decided to pay for it now and complain to both companies involved. I called Purple Heart immediately and they told me they only 10 stairs total were covered, not at each location. When I asked to speak to someone who could escalate a complaint for me, she said everyone would be out of the office until Jan 8. I will update when I hear from either company.

Zero stars. This was the absolute worst moving company I have worked with and have ever heard of. The complaints are the same as the other reviews I have read. The loading crew was pleasant enough, but they did do the bait and switch and asked for more money once most of our belongings were loaded. A lot more. They did not deliver when they said they would. The driver showed up alone with no one to help him unload. He spoke little English so used a lot of pantomiming. I think he was Russian. He dropped most of the boxes as he unloaded the truck alone for 3-4 hrs until help arrived. 30-40% of our belongings were broken and had to be thrown away. And many items lost altogether. He was going to leave without delivering our beds and tried to tell us that he didn't have them. We finally got up into the truck ourselves and found them mixed in with another load. That is probably what happened to the other stuff that was lost, but who knows? The customer service representative was beyond rude and actually yelled and threatened me over the phone. Then sent an email to say we should all calm down. DO NOT, under any circumstances use this company. We would have been better off renting a small trailer to haul just our personal items and sold or donated everything else, then bought new in our new location. It would have been cheaper. If you value your belongings, do not let this company into your home.
