  Let me preface my review by saying that I have never left a poor review for any business publicly. I will also say that the service we received was great. The technician was very friendly and got our very out of tune piano tuned quickly. He even stayed a couple minutes extra so my 4 year old could play him a quick song on the piano and give him a picture she made. However... There was a slight miscommunication on pricing, and I called to just clarify that I was the one who misunderstood. I wasn't at all accusatory or demanding anything from them. I explained that I was sure I misunderstood but I would just like to confirm what I was thinking, in that I was incorrect. That's not at all how my call was received. I was told that I must be seeking free services (I will add that I had already paid in full at this point and had no intention or desire of receiving a refund!) and that they can't be doing work for free. That is not at all what I was suggesting. The owner told me that our piano was very out of tune for years of extreme abuse. I understand that is most likely the case, which is why we were getting it tuned in the first place. We just got the piano a few months ago from a complete stranger so we knew we were taking a risk with it, but it was free to us and so we went ahead and assumed the risk. Hence the tuning. To get the out of tune piano in tune. I called to just clarify the miscommunication, but instead was practically exploded on with harsh accusations and less than stellar customer service. If they just said "sorry for the miscommunication but yes that price was correct" I would have said thank you, have a nice day, goodbye. And I would be recommending them to others. Instead, I don't feel comfortable recommending this business to others after the way I was spoken to. I hope this review will be taken into consideration as an opportunity to learn how to better handle simple questions in a calm, respectful, and helpful manner.

  We are pleased to hear that the technician did a great job. We are sorry for your misunderstanding about the charges. It is industry standard for each tuning/service appointment to incur its own charge. We've never had this questioned in over 35 years of being in the industry and were confused by the purpose of the call if it was not to seek a refund. We do hope this review helps others when considering a free piano. They typically will take extra work to get back into good playing condition. We strive to always let the customer know up front if it will take more than one tuning to get it back into good playing condition so that additional charges are never a surprise. If pianos are not worth investing in we let the customer know up front before beginning any work so that they can make an informed decision on investing in the piano or not.   Technician arrived on time - he had a great personality too. We had a chance to ask him several questions about our old piano. He was honest and straight forward and we appreciated his assessment. We set a follow-up appointment for next year because we felt very satisfied with is skills in tuning our piano.

  Wichita Piano Services is great about sending reminders about upcoming appointments and text reminder the day that they are coming to tune the piano. Gentleman who came was very professional, courteous, and really took his time getting my piano back into tune (after not being tuned since 2006). Would highly recommend their services.
