  The front desk desk person was very polite and helpful. Also, the price was low, so that's something. But the main purpose of the rental is the truck, and this one falls short. The inside was gross. No indication that it had been cleaned at all. I know it's a moving truck, but thick layers of dust on every surface and sticky steering wheel and grime everywhere. Trash in compartments and had to vacuum things out myself before the trip. If it was only that, I could actually manage. But there was absolutely zero window washer fluid in the tank, so I had to go buy that. Then, when I finally filled it up and used it, the windshield wipers were completely worn and needed replacement. So, I had to go get those as well. This isn't stuff you want to find out a thousand miles down the road and in the rain, on the freeway. It seems as though this truck came in, they didn't check anything on it at all, and then sent it right back out for the customer to deal with. Finally, for anyone considering a rental from Budget, you should know ahead of time that there's no cruise control. That's not specifically the fault of this business, but it's something to note. Going several hundred miles with a gas pedal and a non-recumbent position makes for a rather stuff right foot. I'm 1,500 miles in and I could really use a break.

  Prior to renting a 26 foot truck, I had many questions when calling the 1-800 number and all were answered without hesitation. I was also given a 20% discount. My reservation was for the New Braunfels, Tx location and I picked up my truck rental through Tammy who answered my follow up questions and explained very well. She made herself available and went above and beyond to assist me in fueling the truck upon returning instead of just charging me a straight fee. I highly recommend Tammy for a Customer Service award and will definitely recommend Budget Rentals especially this location. This location is safe as where you can leave your vehicle for the day.

  They rent vehicles they don't have, so you have to jump through the AVIS / Budget nonsense to get the issue resolved. What a joke!
