  I would highly recommend CA-NY Express. They are fast, friendly, and professional! For anyone who is looking for movers with cost-efficient prices and allows you to pack your own belongings, they are the company to go to. I just made my move from the South Bay to Brooklyn and struggled finding movers that worked for me. My job had offered some companies through my relocation benefits, however, each company that they recommended insisted on packing my items for me to "ensure that the items are packed well" so that my belongings wouldn't be damaged. This didn't work for my budget, and I saw that CA-NY Express would allow me to pack my own belongings. I reached out for a quote and someone called me just a few hours later. Ron was accommodating of my tight schedule as I had reached out only 3 weeks away from my move date. He was easy to reach for any questions about my quote. I found it easy to enter my inventory but definitely overestimated on purpose as I couldn't really quantify my stuff by box size...etc. My quote came out to about 3k to move about 1 bedroom's worth of belongings and a few big furniture items. My cost also included stairs at my Brooklyn apartment and some packing material I accounted for day-of. On move date, the team was professional and fast! I had numbered my boxes myself, but they came with numbered stickers with my name on it that made me feel like all my belongings were accounted for. I packed most things myself and asked them to pack my fragile items day-of. (I didn't trust myself.) They handled my glass standing desk very well, it came back with no damages! Due to NY's recent snowstorm, I was afraid my belongings would get delayed. However, they all still arrived in the estimated time frame. The movers in Brooklyn were fast, friendly, and efficient. They moved our items in each room we requested them in and had us check off the box number as each box was brought up. None of my items were damaged or lost. Overall, they are a great company with a great team and are super friendly. I recommend offering the movers water and leaving a tip if you can! They deserve it!

  [Update] They reached out and made it right! They increased the amount of reimbursement due to the fact that there was such a large unexpected increase in expense. Their rep was really helpful in working with us to make us feel better about the whole process and helped make sure we could get as much repaired as possible. Original Review: We decided to have the movers pack everything since "they are so experienced", but it could not have been farther from the truth. Even the movers in NYC that unpacked our stuff were complaining that it made no sense, as they had trouble simply finding the items required to reassemble the furniture. Overall we had 3 items that we asked them to take special care packing, and all 3 ended up broken, as well as many other items that were scuffed, damaged, or outright broken in our move, with a total of 14 items damaged. We were moving from a one bedroom apartment, so that's a pretty large share of our total items. Also, even though I called in the quote several times and discussed the items at length with the customer service representative, we still ended up with $1300 extra on the day of packing. Overall might cause me to never use movers again.

  I never write reviews, but moving can be scary and there is much to distrust. However, CA NY Express was amazing. We moved from Los Angeles to NYC and stored our stuff for 9 months in between (thinking it would only be 2 months). We received everything in perfect condition three quarters of a year later. Not to mention we got quotes from 3 other companies all above 10k. Some 15k. They were 1/2 the cost. (Actually not when you factor in all the months of storage, but that is on us, not them). HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
