  My wife and I recently moved overseas for work and we used Capital Pet Movers to help get our dog and cat to the UK to be with us. We worked with Angie over the last several months and she made the whole process as straightforward as possible by explaining all guidelines and requirements. Angie made sure to help us every step of the way making sure to answer my many questions about the process and ensuring we had all documents and paperwork filled out correctly. Their flight plans did change due to increased travel to the UK and Angie made sure to be in constant communication as she worked with the airlines to get the animals booked on different flights. While it was a stressful time for us, she made it much easier. We ended up having to fly out before our cat and dog, so she arranged for their safe transportation to and from the airports. Her attention to detail is unmatched as she also communicated with our vet and boarding to ensure the animals had everything they needed for their travels. I am so grateful for her hard work and dedication. I highly recommend using Capital Pet Movers if you are needing to relocate with your animals and I will definitely be using them in the future.

  (+) You don’t have to handle all the stuff involved with moving your pet. (+) Angie has often been punctual and given correct info. (+) The 3rd party agents that picked up our dog and who are handling her stay in Amsterdam (for up to 3 days longer than originally planned due to detriment weather) are professional and kind. (-) Capital Pet Movers doesn’t have someone on call for international transport, so if something goes wrong than you have to wait until 9:00AM there time to get ahold of them and sometimes significantly longer. If emergencies arise, you’re on your own. (-) There have been multiple times when pertinent info was given less than a week before our dog was scheduled for transport. Conclusion: Be diligent about contacting the correct officials in the country you are relocating to and save your money. At the very least, you can do the same things they’re doing with the same amount of heartache for a heck of a lot cheaper. If you have the money to spend, might be a good option for you. Update to Response: Trying to get people to take down negative reviews (and after reviewing some of these cases it seems like there’s been attempts to discredit the customers claims) is not a good look. Our communication issue occurred before our dog was in transit so that wouldn’t have applied to us. Also, telling us what requirements we need for the dog to enter the country a week before she’s scheduled (especially when it’s easy enough to find out and if we hadn’t happen to find an apartment, would’ve caused a significant delay and probably cost us more money) isn’t something you can shrug off.

  Hello Mr. Mainous, I am sorry you are not completely satisfied with your experience with Capital Pet Movers. We do everything so our clients can have a positive experience. Just to address your concerns... Capital does have an after hours number. When you call our office after hours, our voicemail gives you the prompts "if you are an airline or a client with a pet in transit and need immediate assistance please press 5". This then calls our after hours staff member and they will either answer you immediately or call back with a few minutes. Rest assured, no one is ever just left on their own. Regarding pertinent information, sometimes they are last minute, and while this can be incredibly frustrating for you as the client, it is equally frustrating for us as pet shippers because it can instantly change the specifics of a move and we have to navigate through that quickly. Since your move is still in progress and not completed, please let's take this offline and please continue to work with your agent who is eager to help you with completing your move.   Thank you so much to Angie and the team at Capital Pet Movers for safely transporting Akira from DC to Italy! Their communication was excellent from my first inquiry all the way through to her delivery at our apartment in Rome. Shipping a 58 pound dog overseas is no easy task, but Capital Pet Movers ensured we had everything we needed all the way from the compliant crate to the proper paperwork, and they made the process as stress-free as possible. We will certainly be using them again for future international moves!
