  From start to finish, we were very pleased with Carmack Movers for our move from Northern Virginia to Saint Augustine Florida. From start to finish, everyone was professional, courteous, and thorough in all aspects. We especially appreciated the fact that the owner, who came to our house to do the initial estimate for a minute, is a veteran, and served in Afghanistan. He was very professional, explained everything to us thoroughly, and was true to his word. At both our departure and arrival points Carmack arrived within the scheduled time. They even rescheduled our delivery a couple of days due to a delay in the closing on our new home in Florida. Their estimate was very accurate, and we were well pleased with the move. The staff at the loading and unloading were very professional, worked very hard, and were very courteous. I couldn’t have asked for more. I would highly recommend Carmack Movers to you for your next move.

  We used Carmack for moving and storage services and they would be my first call if I ever need to move again. The crews were professional, friendly, and took great care of my items and my home. It was easy working with the front office staff to get an estimate and book the services.

  There may very well be a positive review from me from several years ago, but I'm updating that review here, and I would advise caution to prospective customers. Carmack handled the cross-country move of my belongings four years ago, from my home in Virginia to a Public Storage unit in Los Angeles. In order to give me a bit of a discount, Carmack held my belongings at their facility in Sterling for a month after I personally moved, in order to group my move with that of one or two other customers. A month later my items were delivered to my Public Storage unit in Calabasas, CA. I had planned to empty out the unit before now, but plans changed. Otherwise I would have acted on this sooner. I finally unpacked my belongings this month and discovered a large box of Le Creuset cookware (and quite a bit of other-brand cookware) was never delivered with my belongings. Either it was stolen from the Carmack facility or mistakenly delivered by Carmack to one of the other customers on the trip. Yes, the drivers provide a manifest with all of the boxes supposedly accounted for. But I can tell you right now, that box of very expensive French cast iron cookware was not packed into my storage unit. The items in the box were worth well over $1,000, and I can't afford to replace them. I assumed there was nothing I could do about Carmack's mistake after all this time. Nevertheless, I emailed this message to Carmack a week ago, and they completely ignored me. Not even an apology for the lost items. I’m so upset, I can’t express it enough. The fault doesn’t lie with Public Storage—that unit was so tightly packed, I would have noticed had anyone broken in. And my home in Virginia was spotless and empty when we left it. This is all on Carmack. So, a word of advice. Either security or delivery is wanting with Carmack. Make sure you keep track of how many boxes they move and what you have in them. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear they're terribly concerned about your property once they're paid.
