Both my grandfather and his wife are disabled. Deanne who has the beginning stages of Dementia is primarily wheelchair bound, but is able to walk with her cane a few steps. My grandfather is able to walk with his cane or walker. While being screened at this TSA, Deanne was told she would have to get out of the wheelchair, walk through the metal detectors WITHOUT her cane. When they voiced their concern about their physical disability, they were told that if they wanted to get on the plane they must comply. Deanne gets up stumbles through the machine barely in time for someone to catch her and put her back in a wheelchair. She is then wheeled away from sight of her husband who is her primary caretaker. How is this ADA acceptable? Now it's my grandfathers turn. They take his cane away and tell him he must walk through unassisted. He voices his concern but complies. The detector goes off, which he explains he has an artificial knee. They tell him that since he doesn't have PROOF of his artificial knee he must take his belt off. TSA agent yells at him and says he must comply. My grandfather takes his belt off and his pants fall down. The agent proceeds to tell this 88 year old man to walk with his pants around his ankles, no cane, or no help through the detectors. When he reaches out to brace himself from falling on the detectors the agent proceeds to yell at him not to touch the machine. My family will NEVER fly here again. APS as well as ADA have been contacted as this is a huge act of elder abuse/discrimination.

I took the flight to Oakland which was very picturesque. Great flight and pleasant staff. Will not hesitate to fly Contour Airlines again.
