  Horrible experience. Lowest rating possible. Did a long distance move and kept my things in their storage unit for 6 months. First, they showed up 2 days early to move us out, were very rough with our things and damaged the place we were moving out of. When we took delivery 6 months later, 12-15 pieces showed up severely damaged or smashed to pieces. They also ‘lost’ my big screen TV and damaged the place we moved into. Jay was completely unresponsive and simply didn’t care. Never even bothered to apologize. Could not recommend them any less. After paying them for 2 moves and prolonged storage, would have been better off buying all new things. ***Update*** After filing a damage/loss claim through the 'impartial' third party company Father&Son uses, I was offered a $100 settlement. I contested and they increased the offer to $130. I have an estimated $10,000 worth of damage and loss of good. This was despite paying them $400 for full value protection of my goods. I emailed back and forth numerous times as they were not honoring the policy I purchased. This got me absolutely nowhere. The extra protection you can buy from they is a scam and the third party who processes their claims is incompetent. Stay as far away from this company as possible. They will damage and steal your goods. They are crooks.

  HORRIBLE!!! We didn’t even make it as far as the actual move. Jon Adams (General Manager) came to our house to give us an estimate. He seemed nice and reasonable. However, a few days after signing the contract with him I called him to ask him a few questions. Mainly about some of the reviews I had read and experiences I had heard from other people. That’s when it hit the fan 😳 He informed me that they WOULD NOT remove my belongings off their truck until we paid them in full. I told him I didn’t think that was quite fair. He said “too bad, that’s the way we do business”. And then said he was canceling our move and not to bother him again! WOW! In all my years (61 of them) of living in Florida, mainly Stuart, I have never met anyone quite as rude and disrespectful in business as Mr. Adams. I proceeded to call what I thought was the headquarters or Fathers and Sons moving and storage in New York. I was very politely informed that they had nothing to do with the Florida’a franchises and haven’t for many years. Jon Adams told us that it was a family owned business for over 50 years! NOT TRUE!!!

  Unfortunately we had a bad experience with these movers. They sent three guys. One was great, one showed up wearing flip flops (to move heavy objects) & he was on the phone inside the truck for 30+ minutes (we were paying by hour), and the third guy took a smoke break every 30 minutes including one in our bathroom. We are non smokers so this was a big concern for us & our children. These same 2 guys were definitely in no hurry & didn’t show much care packing. We did call & let the company know our concerns. They offered us a (small) credit if we wanted to use them again. This in no way makes up for the lack of quality and unprofessionalism. Employees are a representation of a company. We paid for a service that was done in an unacceptable manner. Hoping this review will help others know to look elsewhere for service and help the company step up in choosing and training employees.
