I've been utilizing the storage here for a few years. It's seen it's better days but these set of units are under great security and condition. The local sheriff is known to drive by very frequently so no worries there. I left three stars because the price for a 10x20 unit is significantly higher than the compatition and someone is leaving garbage around our unit lane.

    Response from the owner

Sorry to hear about the garbage Jenny. We make routine checks on our sites and try to get it cleaned up ASAP or better yet... find out who's the culprit and have them clean it up. Unfortunately, it can be 'monkey see monkey do' and others start to think we're a garbage service too. Thankfully, in 2022 we're investing in upgraded and additional security cameras for this smaller annex location on Quam Ave. We do feel that our pricing is competitive with what we offer our customers in terms of value and service. We try to keep our rates competitive, but we also need to keep with rising expenses, property taxes, etc. We really appreciate your business Jenny and please don't hesitate to reach out to our office if you see garbage or anything else we should know about.

Worst experience EVER with a storage place. What company raises rates DURING a pandemic when people are losing everything. 'Oh...but we are a small family business' that only has about 20 LARGE locations!! With units that are so banged up and doors that need crow bars to lift because they are NOT maintained. And the CHEAPEST sliding locks that require a sledgehammer to close because they are bent and NOT maintained. NEVER EVER EVER RENT HERE!! They will treat you like dirt!! Edit: For my privacy sake I DON'T use my real name on here. And no, I don't want to talk. I've tried MANY times, but was ignored. I'll be moving out of my unit soon-in the next month or so and I'll be HAPPY to be rid of this vile place.

    Response from the owner

Cyra, we're very sorry to hear of your frustrations with your storage rental at our Quam Ave location. When we've searched your name in our database... including prior customers, we cannot locate you. Possible that a friend or relative was the renter? We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss these issues you encountered. If springs break on a garage door, we need to be notified so they can be fixed... which we address immediately. Many of our doors also encountered hail damage from a storm last year causing some dents. The latches on our doors are industry standard. Majority of the time if a latch is not sliding properly, pressure needs to be applied down on the door while sliding the latch over. We feel that our track record speaks for it's self with all our other 5-Star customer reviews for our locations and we do not treat anyone like 'dirt'. Again, we would love to discuss further for an opportunity for clarity and correction of issues.

For over 3 years, we've rented a large storage unit from this business. The only positive thing I will say is that there has never been a water issue in the unit (which should be standard but sometimes you worry that water might leak in). First, navigating this lot is very difficult with a truck and trailer. All of the rows of units are dead-ends, meaning, you can't pull in and drive through. The only driveway to get to the rows of units is fairly narrow, which makes backing a trailer in nearly impossible (at least with a full size truck and trailer). Yesterday, we took a large truck load of very heavy items (books) to be stored, along with other items. After driving all the way down there, we found a sun faded note covering the electronic key reader. Most of the writing was either faded or washed off, which indicated the note had been there several days. The note said that the gate didn't work (that is all I could make out of the remaining ink on paper that looked sun faded). There was no posted phone number to call. We ended up having to leave, with a full truck. So, I phoned this morning and asked why there was no notice sent out regarding the gate maintenance issue. I was told that the gate issue wasn't known to them until a few days ago and they didn't know when it would be fixed, OK. So again, I asked why they didn't send out a notice saying: "We have discovered that the gate is not working, until further notice, you will not have access to your storage ... we will email you when the issue is resolve, which is hopefully soon". The man I complained to stated that I should have phoned him per the note so he could have come over and manually opened the gate. I told him that the purple ink on the note taped to the electronic gate key pad was faded and most of it washed off. He then said: "No, it was blue ink but it turned purple after it was rained on ..." So, the man knew that the note was barely legible, but didn't bother to update that so people could actually read it. We wasted an entire morning driving there, and then driving back (fully loaded). Now the truck sits in the garage unusable because the entire back end is loaded with boxes of very heavy books (who wants to load those more than once?!?!?!). There is no excuse why this company couldn't have sent out a mass email alerting customers to the problem and then again when the issue was resolved. I pointed out that they have no trouble sending out monthly statements via email, so why not send out notices too? Man understood and seemed apologetic, but that doesn't solve the issue of an entire morning wasted traveling to and fro, an unloaded and now unusable truck, and now we have to find another day to run down there (winter is coming, days are short and list of chores is long). This is 2017. A piece of paper loosely taped to the keypad is a totally unacceptable way to communicate the fact that the only entrance to the establishment is dysfunctional. For the cost of their units (premium), failing to communicate in a modern form is unacceptable. Additionally, we were denied access to the items we do have in storage.

    Response from the owner

Joy, let me start off by saying thank you for your patronage of our business over the past 3 years. It is greatly appreciated. I'm sorry to hear of the frustration you encountered this past weekend when the gate system at this location was not in operation. A construction crew performing road work on Quam Avenue inadvertently cut our gate's underground communications line on Friday. Fortunately, our site manager was able to make arrangements with the contractor on site that caused the damage and as of Tuesday morning, the gate has been fully restored. You are correct on sending an email out to our tenant database regarding the gate being inadvertently out of operation. Our apologies again that an email was not sent out, which is our general procedure when an event such as this occurs. Our manager was busy all throughout the weekend, morning and evening, trying to keep the integrity of the security on the property by making numerous personal trips to let tenants in and out through the gate. You mentioned that there was no posted phone number to call, but we do have a permanent outdoor sign attached directly to the gate that has our office phone number on it. Again, our sincere apologies that this unfortunate and unexpected event occurred and without an email notification. This has been appropriately addressed with our staff to ensure the proper procedures are followed for any unforeseeable future event such as this.
