Complaint 1. Gaines Car Detailing damaged my car's headliner and refused to resolve it. Complaint 2. The owner didn't hold true to his quoted price of $85 for an interior cleaning for my sedan raising the price to $95. Also, I never received any documentation of the quoted price of $85. Compliant 3. Wouldn't release my car until I paid an inflated price. Complaint 4. Gaines Car Detailing had no concerns at all for the customer's issues of pricing and damage to the car headliner. Also, Gaines had no interest in resolving the issues at hand. Gaines never even looked at the damage done to my car, despite telling him about the damage. Complaint 5. Service was lengthy totaling 6hrs for interior cleaning alone. No update on the estimated time of completion even upon calling them. Complaint 6. The business should take before and after pictures of vehicles, so there is complete transparency between both customers and the business. Pictures were not taken by the business of my car's interior. Complaint 7. Upon arrival to pick up my car, Gaines never told me where my car was or got it for me. Complaint 8. The owner never called me back as requested via the receptionist to settle the matter of raising my price from $85 to $95. Complaint 9. Having a damaged headliner hurts my business as an Uber driver. Complaint 10. No respect for veterans or customers. No veteran discounts. Complaint 11. I still need to clean the spots that Gaines "Detail" missed. Event Details On Wednesday, Oct 6, 2021, I drove my car to Gaines Car Detailing to get a price estimate on it. The owner quoted me for $85 on 10/6/2021, stating there was no veteran discount because his rates stayed the same for everyone. I made an appointment for Friday, Oct 8, 2021, at 9 am and arrived on time. I called for an update on my car estimated completion time and was only told they would call me. They called me late at 255pm according to my phone logs. Accordingly, to my phone record, the receptionist called me once more at 344pm. I was already nearby so I arrived at 346pm due to an appointment. Upon arrival, the receptionist showed me a receipt for $95. I told her I was quoted $85. She stated it was just $10. Upon hearing this I asked if I could talk to the owner to make it right. She went to look for the owner but then came back stating he was not at the shop but out driving. I asked the receptionist to have the owner call me. I also asked her what would you like me to do regarding payment? She responded by holding her hand out asking for my car key back. I told her I would just pay it now and have the owner settle it with me upon his call to me. (I did this because I had no transportation and needed my car.) They never told me where my car was or got it for me. While waiting for the call, I went to pick up my brother. That is when I noticed the cloth headliner was damaged and sagging down. The call never came so accordingly, my brother and I came back to the shop to see if the owner was there to discuss both the price and the damage done. When I arrived in front of Gaines, in my car with my brother as a witness, the owner was outside in plain view of my car and my brother and me, but completely ignored us while proceeding to go straight to his company van. I approached him at the parked van directly in front of his business and told him about the damage and a mistake in pricing in a professional way and asked him to make things right. He was confrontational, unempathetic, and insulted my occupation as an Uber driver. He stated the damage was already there before the cleaning. He never even looked at my car and persisted to argue with me about this. I have pictures proving otherwise that my headliner was intact before the cleaning. I told him I would contact the BBB and he stated that I needed to leave his business, which I did. I am resolving this with the BBB and the business at this time, hopefully, it won't require any further action. If you are going to get your car detailed, I highly recommend you go to a professional business.

I would not recommend Gaines. The owner himself quoted me $85 for an interior detail. When I came to pick up my car the receptionist told me I owed $125 for extra work I did not ask for and was not quoted. When I politely asked to speak with the owner (who I could see through a window) the receptionist said she would go check (she was very rude). She came back and said the owner refused to come talk to me but just to pay the $85 and leave. What kind of customer service is that?! It really felt like a bait and switch scam and they were mad I didn’t fall for it. As for the actual service, I was pretty frustrated that the owner (while looking at my car and giving original quote) said he guaranteed they could get these two particular stains out, which were my main concern. Not only did they NOT get the stains out, but they looked like they hadn’t been touched. I feel like I got charged $85 for someone to vacuum my car and wipe off the dashboard. This is a very dishonest business which I will not return to.

Rodney and his staff are the best at what they do. They are the best detail shop in town. We have been getting our cars cleaned here for over 20 years and Rodney never disappointed. If anything was missed Rodney always took care of it. I definitely recommend this place.
