    I hired Gathright to pack and move from CA to WI. I wish I could say that it went well, but my experience with Gathright was terrible. On moving day, the driver called to say they were 15 minutes away... three hours later they arrived. Charged me twice the amount I was quoted for packing and moving. Movers argued with one another. I had to ask packers to no smoke on my property; they left cigarette butts all over the lawn and driveway. The packers/movers also: Packed items that were set aside and labeled: Do Not Pack Tore screen on front door Left packing tape rolls on lawn Days later, Gathright called and emailed saying the driver was attempting to deliver at my new address. It was 2 days before the earliest deliver date that I gave on the contract. Gathright then told me that they had to ship my belongings back to a warehouse and said I was being charged for storage and redelivery; this now added up to 3 times the amount I was quoted. Unsure of how to handle what was happening, I sought legal counsel. After three weeks of phone calls (management was always “out sick” or “unreachable”) my attorney was able to schedule the redelivery. When delivery did arrive, the driver would only accept cash for the remaining balance. The movers were 2 hours late and here’s the result of the movers entering my home: Dented Front Door Scratched Walls in new home Stained carpet with shoe prints Damaged Furniture Missing Hardware for Furniture Did not reassemble furniture in new home Left trash and tape in my home and outside on the sidewalk

    Oh where to begin. I am moving a hot tub to an adjacent state. I was advised to schedule an early pickup to avoid the busy season to make pick up more reliable. I did so and the madness began. I paid extra fees for a heavy and bulky load and even paid extra for the storage from the early pick up (all of which seemed fair). The pick up team arrived in time - though it was a sub contractor. Gathright claims not to use subcontractors but this inaccurate in my case. The subcontractors did not know what they were moving a struggled to load the hot tub up. They simply did not have the right equipment to move across grass (despite my also paying an extra fee for exactly that reason before pickup). At one point I had to jump in to catch the hot tub from falling on one of the movers during the awkward effort to load it into the truck. I got a minor cut on my leg but otherwise no one was hurt, at least. After pick up, the company asked about an early delivery - I explained I already paid for extra storage because I followed their advice to pick it up before the busy season. I called them to set up delivery once the rest of the locevwas complete and they claimed ignorance and said they would get to it soon but they could not reach their dispatcher for a week. After that, I was told (twice) that the hot tub was to be loaded for delivery in 48 hours - it was not. Then I was told that they could only guarantee delivery in a 21 (I think) day window and that none of the other assurances were accurate. On the last day of that window, I got a call at lunch saying they would deliver that night (not the day before, no four hour window, just “tonight”) When I asked for a window, I was told they did not know but they would call me when they were about an hour out. They called saying they were 40 minutes out - and then about 40 minutes later saying they were, again, 40 minutes out. That last estimate was pretty good and they arrived to find - again - that they did not have the right equipment to move it across grass. They had already taken payment and refused to return the payment despite leaving the hot tub in my driveway. Of course, the moving company itself had been closed for hours at this point and all I could do was leave a message. We will see tomorrow how they complete this move but it is already a disaster. I can’t recommend that at all and, frankly, have no reason to believe anything they tell me. I am now considering whether to give them a chance to complete this move or simply to retain an attorney and seek a refund.

    I needed some last minute movers and I didn't know who to call, but a friend of mine knew this company and recommended them to me like instantly. So I called one of their reps who helped me to arrange my pickup very quickly due to the urgency. He took special care of my move and the next day these guys showed up as promised. The crew leader told me that he knew that my move was urgent and worked hard to do it really fast. I will recommend them to other people.
