  I had the incredible fortune to be referred to Jennifer at Gentle Transitions for the move of my mother from her long-lived in 2BR/2BA house in a retirement community in Palm Desert, CA into a 1BR/1BA small apartment in an assisted living facility several miles away. All of the upfront planning and preparation done remotely by me from Washington, DC. Jennifer served as the team lead and project manager. She oversaw all aspects, kept me fully engaged and informed, and was uber customer service savvy. The other members of the team reflected this standard as well, which tells me that this is the organizational standard and culture for Gentle Transitions. Jennifer is expert, warm and caring, creative, highly organized, sincere, witty as needed, and stunningly on top of all macro and micro details. We planned everything in advance, including the diagramming of my mother’s eventual apartment with the mapping of her furniture, curios and incidentals from one to the next. Her plans were clear, lucid and absolutely spot-on. She coordinated the movers, managed the on-site work and provided a creative and expert energy that – in effect – reformed my mother’s 2BR/2BA house as a 1BR/1BA apartment, thereby fully enabling my mother to move-in stress-free with all aspects of home, comfort and familiarity welcoming her upon arrival. All was as planned and expected. Everything was put away. And I mean “all.” Not only was furniture installed, but all was put on shelves, in drawers, on racks, in cabinets and on walls. It so fully-captured my mother’s space and feel with the added benefit of Jennifer’s design vision and awareness. Jennifer, the team, and Gentle Transitions … thank you so much!

  I have had the pleasure of working with Gentle Transitions on MANY occasions! I am currently the Direct of Sales and Marketing at a senior living community located in Laguna Hills, CA. With that said, I have the opportunity to recommend senior relocation services to MANY of my new residents moving in. With the nature of what my community offers, often times we hear the same heart wrenching story about how their loved one has lived in the same home for 50+ years and is going to have to downsize to move into our community. Some residents are extremely excited about making the move into a senior living and others, rightfully so, go through a VERY difficult time with this HUGE emotional change. I am SO thankful to be able to offer them a solution to all their problems with simply handing them a Gentle Transitions brochure. I am 100% confident that as soon as they set up there first FREE consultation at the home that the pressure and stress of the move has already become more bearable. Depression is a common side affect in seniors who are suffering so much loss or have already been through the dramatic realization that they can no longer care for themselves and might need a little extra help. The last thing they need to add to the plate is getting rid of items in there home that have so many memories attached to them..... The families I send on over to Gentle Transitions are SHOCKED at the prompt response time and the fact that they have already contacted me, been to my community to measure their new home and are ready to get to work. Laurie M. who is one of my key contact people with Gentle transitions is an absolute delight to work with! Her honestly and ability to get things done and in a timely manor to me when needed is EXACTLY the kind of working relationship I would ask for. she is so well connected in the industry and is always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who asks. I also have to give a huge shout out to Greg Gunderson who is the companies owner and president... He has been to my community on multiple occasions to host luncheons where we can invite outside residents who are simply looking for some more information on relocation and the services available to them. When the owner himself is willing to make the trip out and host a presentation to a group anywhere from 2 attendees to 25 you know his heart is with his company. Thank you, thank you Gentle Transitions for helping make my job easier by knowing my new residents and family members are in great hands!
