Do not use this company ever!!!! If there ever was less than 1 star I would rate them that!!! When I called initially Rob was very nice and helpful even until the end. I gave him all the measurements of all the boxes, the number of boxes, sizes and all the furniture that we had and he gave me an estimate according to all what I gave. He totaled the cubit feet and gave me the estimate. I was told that they were a very reputable company and that they own their own trucks and when they set a date of the move.that will not change. They say they take a credit card for the deposit but when the movers come they needed to be paid 50% in cash, money order, check or Zelle. Two days prior to the move we were told it had to be moved to another date. The response we received was slow when we tried to inquire why it was changed and that the date they moved it to did not work for us. We changed dates and the movers came. However, when the movers got here, they took less than 5 minutes to walk through the house and they eye balled everything and increased the estimate to 40% more than the initial estimated price. They did not measure anything. Our house is just over 1300 square feet and they had initially estimated 825 cubit feet and when they came they estimated 1400 cubit feet. We declined the movers and were told it was not their problem and that i had to call customer service. I requested my deposit back but they said the contract I signed says that the deposit we gave is nonrefundable if we refused the move. My husband told the rep it was breach of contract because they had told us an estimate that was the closest to the measurements given and we were given a much higher estimate. My husband tried to explain this and the company representative was rude, obnoxious and belligerent, even used “shut up” and “I’m going to hang up on you” when my husband was trying to explain the breach and telling him we will report this company to our lawyer and he said “go ahead” instead of trying to remedy the situation even if it was just to appease the customer and be more understanding of the situation. This guy had no customer service skills-none whatsoever.!!!! That being said, we did not have a good experience with this company!!! If you have similar problems like us please reach out for a class action lawsuit.

Interstate Moving behaves like a mafia operation which entices customers with promises of competitive moving rates and speedy delivery times. The reality is far different. Interstate was only incorporated in 2019 by several Russian individuals, who own similar moving companies throughout the States, and has only one truck registered in its fleet. The company lures customers with fake online reviews, competitive moving estimates and unrealistic delivery timeframes. After being picked up, the customer’s goods are transported to a warehouse, where they are stored (often for weeks or months at a time) until enough other customers retain Interstate to transport their goods to the same destination. In the meantime, the company uses various stalling tactics to keep the customer in the dark. The company’s representatives often do not answer the phones, and either ignore or delay in answering customer voicemails and emails. If the customer persists, he is eventually connected to Ed Livingston, Interstate’s General Manager, who proceeds to terrify him/her with insults, expletives, baseless legal threats, and threats of moving the customer's goods to Washington state and holding them pending the results of a legal "arbitration." The customer's goods finally arrive, several weeks to a few months after the date of pick-up, and significantly later than the deadline promised by Interstate's sales reps. My husband retained Interstate to transport our household goods from Alexandria, VA to Gainesville, FL. “Mike,” one of the company’s sales reps, assured him (on the phone) that our goods would be delivered within 5-7 days from the date of pick-up. My husband agreed to a pick-up date of August 2 and Mike emailed a Moving Estimate summarizing the details of the move. Although the Moving Estimate contained a provision stating that Interstate had up to 21 business days to deliver the goods, my husband relied upon Mike's assurance that the goods would be delivered by August 9th (i.e., 5-7 days). When Interstate’s movers arrived to pick up our belongings, my husband was given a Bill of Lading, which, unlike the Moving Estimate, stated that Interstate had “up to a maximum of thirty business weekdays … beginning on the first date indicated as available for delivery,” to deliver our goods. Once again, my husband ignored this provision, assuming that is was boilerplate contractual language which the company inserted into all of its contracts, not our actual delivery time frame. When we contacted Interstate on August 6th for an update about the status of our belongings, we were informed that our goods could take up to 15-21 business days from the earliest date of available delivery. When we expressed our disappointment, we were contacted by Ed Livingston, Interstate’s General Manager, who proceeded to insult, scream expletives, and threaten baseless legal action against us. Mr. Livingston referred to me, a 32 year old woman, as a “little girl,” demanded that “the women [my mother and I] get off the phone,” so that he could speak with my husband, and referred to my husband as a “d***h***,” a “little f***,” and an “arrogant jerk,” who needed to “learn his f***** lesson. The General Manager then threatened to transport our goods to a warehouse in Washington state, where they would be held indefinitely, unless we signed a non-disparagement agreement. Mr. Livingston proceeded to hound us with phone calls and to send hostile text messages, including insinuations that he knew where we lived. He even called, posing as “Thomas,” Interstate’s alleged legal counsel, to terrorize us into signing the non-disparagement agreement. We finally received our goods on September 5, 2021, a month and three days after they were picked up from their place of origin. The stress of this experience caused significant emotional and psychological distress and unnecessary hardship for our family. Avoid this company like the plague.

1 star This company says they are highly rated and trustworthy but they lied to me through out the entire process. When I first checked their reviews they were in the 4.5star range and when I checked later in my move process they were sitting at 3.4 stars and there are others who have similar stories like mine. I was told by both the sales man Ed and the booking agent Rob that they accept credit cards as payment which they neglected to disclose was just for the down payment. Turns out they only accept cash, money order, and zelle as payments for pickup and only cash or money order upon delivery. I only found out about the lack of capability to pay with a credit card the day before my scheduled pickup! When my items were picked up they did a great job packing up everything but all of the movers spoke severely broken English making communication difficult. They also took about 6 hours to pack my items which was 2 hours longer than estimated. I was also promised that their movers would not damage or ruin my carpet during the move and they ended up with a mud spot on the brand new carpet. I called their sales department (as they were the ones that informed me they they would not make a mess) and spoke with someone that hastily dismissed me and told me to talk to Natalie in customer service, In my frustration I hung up after saying that he was useless to me, the sales agent called me back and threatened to take my contract to arbitration and double my move fee for me being frustrated with their lack transparency. In the days after my items were picked up i inquired about my remaining balance and it took 3 days for me to get an answer out of them. I then checked my credit card and they double charged me for the down payment and only offered to refund the second payment after i confronted them about it. Their website also has no public facing policies meaning they can change them at their own discretion and threaten to hold you hostage with your items. Most who need to move are in a rush and this company takes advantage of those who do not have to sit down a read an unnecessarily long contract. I was given a 1 day heads up on when my items were being shipped out which was barely enough time to schedule time for me to receive them. I was also told my items would be on a Semi when delivered and when they were delivered it was with a sub-contracted company and a 26 foot truck. All of this was not communicated to me at all. My items were in a mix of boxes and plastic bins and of the 20 some bins I have 4 were not cracked or busted or beaten up. Both of my couches were disassembled for no reason and the took apart my kitchen table which is not supposed to come apart. In summary this company is absolutely one you should avoid, they are unprofessional, disorganized, and outright liars. I am extremely unhappy with the customer service and the condition my items were in upon delivery. Do yourself a favor and do not work with the shady scumbags as they will just rip you off.
