  I would give negative stars if possible. We had the extreme displeasure of using these guys after a recommendation from Veterans United for our move from Columbus to Chicago. To put it shortly, they were unprepared, unprofessional, and looking to make a quick buck. They showed up in an unmarked truck already filled nearly to the brim with someone else’s belongings. They didn’t/couldn’t fit all our items despite clearly being quoted for a motorcycle in addition to our household items and furniture. There were several last minute surprise costs. There was a surprise cash or cash app only. When we would call for help out calls were ignored. We ended up paying several thousand dollars for a scam. More than double what we had been quoted and didn’t even get all our items moved. We subsequently had to go back and forth two times including had to rent a van to finish the move. Honestly they deserve to be investigated for nefarious and sketchy business practices. They damaged items as well. STAY AWAY. Don’t fall for the fake reviews and the deleted reviews. Check out their Yelp and you’ll see they have a strong pattern of scamming.

  The guys were great. They did a good job moving items and loading our stuff as effectively as possible to save cubic feet. The moveout was done well with no damages to the property. However, our movers were hired under American Moving System (TSP). So our quotes and pricing came from our TSP. That part was the only issue we had as it was under quoted and we racked up a bunch of charges. For example, our door from their truck was over 50 feet away so that was a huge price increase. This aspect wasn't even asked during the initial quote. Anyways just be advised that your initial company you get quoted for will often be different than the subcontracted company that does the labor. So far Jacob and Sons were awesome. I'll edit this review if we find that our stuff arrived with issues due to their work.

  THIEVES! If I could give negative stars I would. Hiring this company was the absolute worst decision I could have made! First of all, we were quoted $5400 to move and then when they picked up, they told us we had to pay $7000. After our things were dropped off, we noticed that some kitchen stuff was broken (crock pot, bowls, etc) I was annoyed but wasn’t even going to mention anything to the company. That is until we noticed that two pairs of my husbands shoes were removed from the packaged box and then removed from the actual shoe box. The shoes together worth $1000. The empty shoe boxes left behind. I had to file a claim through their insurance company and wait 7 days to hear anything back. I am still waiting those 7 business days and I noticed today that the money from my daughters piggy bank was STOLEN. I realize maybe I should not have sent her piggy bank with the money but it honestly didn’t even cross my mind. Never in a million years would I think they would steal from us. Absolute PIGS!
