  Major Moving Company was a real find! Spontaneously I dove into my search engine looking for movers with no real names in mind since it’s been years since I’ve used a moving company and remembering, that was a horrible experience. So, I trusted my guts, and found Diana in reception and dispatching so on top of things that I never wondered about what my experience would be…and it was, as I felt secure it would be, it was a delightful day working with Gabriel and William, the best workers, charming and so pleasant as well as great spatial planners in packing their truck with our many assorted sizes and shapes of containers holding sentimental personal and family memorabilia, and special pieces of furniture, stored for 11 years in a two car garage, to a temporary space several miles away, and then with a couple big pieces to our home with. Now if I could only have them to help me do a Maria Kondo with all of it! My husband and I were in good hands! I trust you will be too if you go with Major Movers. Cheers!

  I had a very similar experience to Shelley Tidino below. Movers were very efficient, and very nice. My stuff arrived completely intact. However, on the day of my move, they showed up with a truck 1/2 the size I was told I would get. Said they would be unable to pack the entirety of my 1 bedroom apartment. Left about a quarter of my stuff behind that i had to move on my own later. They told me I had to decide then and there, without talking to the home office. I am a single person, and felt like I was being shaken down. Moving 75% of a 1 bedroom apartment crosstown also took 8 hours (though i was not charged for 1 hour lunch break.) The experience was otherwise great. and they were the cheapest quote. But being ripped off leaves a sour taste in the mouth...

  I called and spoke to Diane . She seemed pleasant enough. She asked me to send list of stuff to be mi Ed. I sent the video tour of my house so that I can get ball park estimate. Sure enough it was 5000- 6700 final figure after she gets the list . Once I sent the list it was 9700. $500 deposit and rest when the have loaded my stuff in the truck. I asked why should I pay prior to delivery and set up. The answer was company policy. I told her it’s not acceptable as the truck might go south of the border rather than to East Bay Area where I was moving. She then says half when they load the truck and rest when truck arrives but before unloading. This is insane as I as a customer have no recourse if items are missing or the setting up of furniture is not completed . The whole negotiations back and forth went on for about 10 days. I finally chose not to use them . Their prices are fungible. Their professionalism is suspect I think they are small time operators using temporary laborers and not permanent dedicated staff. They may be ok for move across town and for small apartments Their name is a paradox as they are not a MAJOR moving company in any sense of the word. Murli MD MBA
