My husband and I had movers hired who cancelled on us 2 days before the planned move. I was incredibly stressed out and tried frantically to call movers around us. A lot of them were booked or too expensive. Someone I found said they didn't do big moves (we have a 3 bed apartment) but recommend Nick with Mindful Moving. He was available, sent a great offer and we arranged 3 guys + 26ft truck port to port for 12pm (with expectation of 3-4 hours), including packing/wrapping furniture (we had totes packed already), no hidden fees for stairs, fuel etc. I was over the moon and in hindsight too optimistic. The day before the move he asked if they could come earlier, at 10am which was fine although throwing off our morning plans a little. We have a cat and wanted to bring her and her stuff to the new place (with enclosed patio) first thing, stay with her for a while and then head back to do the move. Since we only moved within the same apartment complex we could go back and forth within a 5 minute walk. Come moving day, we bring her over at 9:15ish and pass a pickup truck with a big trailer on the way. Turns out, that was them already because when I was called at 9:30 and asked if I was home I had to quickly run over to our old place to get the move going. Yes, better earlier than later but that was the first thing that threw me off. Second, I was unsure about the trailer because I expected an actual truck but whatever, I'm not a pro and thought they probably know what they're doing. Next thing, instead of 3 only 2 guys came so while the hourly rate was lower I felt already that it obviously would take longer than with 3. Ah well. My stress level was already high, I just wanted to get it done but this attitude was a mistake. The guys were great and funny and they really worked their butts off with some really heavy and bulky furniture and one flight of stairs including around a corner. Now here comes the but. I did expect the furniture to be wrapped which Nick and I discussed and they did use plastic wrap that we already had and used for some things. They did not however use their own, if they had any, neither was any of our furniture wrapped in moving blankets before taken out of the apartment. Nothing looked like the pictures on Google or on their website (they didn't wear the company's shirts either but I couldn't care less about that). I'm unsure why that was, maybe because we only moved within the same complex? Wasn't worth it? Who knows. My anxiety went through the roof and I was too uncomfortable and scared to say anything. My own mistake, I should've said something because we got the consequences. The way they packed the trailer did seem quite random but I told myself they are the pros, keep your cool. I did apologize to them for my hovering around them because I was so anxious and it got to the point where I had to leave to go to the new place because I couldn't watch. My husband sent me a message saying that the back panel of our wardrobe was coming off. I was kind of expecting that and went back, IKEA furniture is flimsy but we could just staple it back on. Now here comes the consequences. Because the wardrobe wasn't wrapped at all and the 3 drawers were left inside (which with wrapping it wouldn't have been a problem) one of the drawers slid back through the back panel, taking 1/4 of it with it. Well, this isn't going to survive another move but ah well. I saw that they put our mattress in the trailer without using a mattress bag and when I asked about that they did put it in one. That was after of course it was already dirty and someone had stepped on it, leaving a footprint which we only saw once we put our bed back up later that day. Nick arrived at 12pm, 2.5 hours after the move started (as they were getting ready to go to the new place) and helped finish the move. Did I learn from my mistake? Absolutely. Was the move mindful? Nope. Would I hire them again? It might surprise you, but yes.

10 out of 10 highly recommended~ I've moved numerous times on my own and with hired help. Nick and his guys at Mindful moving hands down made my last move smoother, easier and less stressful than all the rest. They came in, handled business, did what they needed and got it done. They were professionals, had great attitudes & took care in moving my things so nothing was damaged or broken during the process. Thanks again for such an easy & affordable move!

Nick Gallant was so helpful and professional and polite!! I had to have a very heavy cast iron clawfoot tub brought upstairs to my FL condo where my bathroom was being remodeled while I was visiting my dad in North Carolina. The shipping company refused to bring it upstairs, which required me to hire movers. Nick was referred to me as a stand up man and company. A lot of people needed to be coordinated regrading the timing of the tub delivery. Nick was very flexible and went over and above what he was asked to do when the shipping company proved to be very difficult. Thank you for helping to make this task so easy for me. Your willingness to be helpful touched my heart. I really appreciate you.
