I found Nu Lyfe through Home Advisor and used them to move my apartment from Atlanta to Austin. They quoted a great price, and could accommodate my short notice and deliver with a 7 to 10 day window from pick up. But I suppose you get what you pay for. First, the good: • Very Reasonable Price • The movers who moved me out of my apartment were great- they were careful to wrap all of my furniture both in blankets and in plastic wrap • The office manager, Nathan, was good about finding out information for me and addressing my concerns, if I had only worked with him this would be a very different review. • 2 of my pieces of furniture shattered due to a belt breaking and they immediately compensated me fairly. And the bad: • I was told by Jeff that the movers would arrive between 9-10 AM to pick up my things on a Sunday. By 11AM no one had called to say they were running late, and since it was Sunday none of my calls to the office to confirm the truck was coming were reaching anyone. Around 2PM I eventually called Home Advisor to get the manager, Nathan’s, cell since I was worried the date had gotten mixed up. Turns out they had deliveries before me (so 9-10AM was an unreasonable time to tell me in the first place) and didn’t show up until 4PM • I was told delivery would be 7-10 days after pick up. The contract I signed stated that the delivery window was until the end of the month, but Jeff assured me that was a place holder number and he would change it. This was a lie- I was naïve to sign something without all the information updated. While I was driving the 900 miles to my new apartment I called to see if they had a better estimate of when my things would arrive and was informed delivery would be 10-14 days, which didn’t work with my new job starting. Jeff insisted this was the timeframe he had given me despite me having emails stating otherwise. Luckily, Nathan managed to contact the driver and confirm my items would arrive within the first window I was given. • The man I mainly worked with, Jeff, was extremely hard to contact. I would call and leave a message, or email him and he would rarely respond to any of these. I routinely asked him to send written confirmation of things we discussed on the phone, he would agree to, and then never send it. He also got very short tempered with me on the phone- moving is very stressful, especially when you’re on as strict as a deadline as I was, and him getting angry with me did not help the situation. It got to the point that I asked to only work with Nathan from then on. • While they did compensate me for the broken furniture, I was still down a bookcase and dresser (which had been holding my clothes). • The mover who helped unload my stuff, who they may have hired locally and may not be affiliated with them, appeared very frustrated when I asked him to put boxes labeled “Bedroom” in the bedroom and to let me know the number on the sticker of the items he was bringing in. • The driver who delivered my stuff had his two daughters moving some of the boxes- they seemed to be around 10 and 14, but I am not good with ages. Seeing these two young girls preform the job I had hired (presumably) adult movers for was off putting and not a situation I knew how to handle. I think Nu Lyfe could be a good moving company so long as you work with someone who tells you accurate information and contacts you back. But my experience was overall very negative and frustrating, so I cannot recommend them.

They moved people into my neighborhood in Pittsburgh late at night. The driver pulled down our power wires and our cable wires at that time it pulled down my front gutters. They refuse to give me insurance information and promised they would send a check out last monday and stop law suite. So i did. They never sent check and will not take my calls. How horrible to do that. They refuse to give insurance info. So now i have to put out money to file law suite that i stopped.

Really unimpressed and unhappy with how my move went. They called me without warning to say they were ready to deliver my stuff that day (they were supposed to call 24 hours in advance.) Since I was busy that day, we scheduled for delivery at 9am the next day. I showed up to the delivery site at 9am and didn't hear anything from them. I called them at 9:20am when I hadn't heard anything and they told me they were 30-45 mins out. I ran an errand and then came immediately back, and ended up sitting there for another hour. They arrived 2 hours late from the agreed upon time. When they arrived they refused to drive the truck up to the delivery location, which I understood, however they claimed we would have to pay more for a long carry. We asked them to see proof of where we signed and agreed to that, they searched in their truck for 5 minutes and brought out someone else's form as an example because they "could not find ours and it wasn't included in the paperwork they had." We had no choice and had to pay for the long carry. They did not pay attention to the notes on the boxes (ex. nothing on top) and they made inappropriate comments throughout the move to me. I was so glad when they left.
