  I showed up to pick up my truck and nobody was in the office, I stood there for several minutes and ended up calling the store to get someone to come out of the back. I was quoted $355 on the phone and the guy at the desk, without clarifying charged me $450. Apparently the discounts that were applied over the phone and the price I was quoted didn’t show up on his end and he made no effort to clarify pricing before charging me. He did correct the situation and change the price, but I have to wait days for the money to be returned to my card, where if he would have confirmed the price, it wouldn’t have been an issue. The customer service definitely needs some work.

  We went with Penske because they offered a better deal than U-Haul for a One-Way trip with 16’ truck. Ex: more days to drop-off plus a bigger truck for a better price. Or at least that’s what we thought. Our pick-up time was changed to 1 hr and a half later, so when we dropped-off we thought we also had extra time. We were not told otherwise. Now they want to charge us $103 for an extra day! Also, we took pictures of all the damages the truck had on the day we picked it up, including the windshield. We were told they needed to investigate the picture of the windshield to check if they needed to charge us for any damages. The guy on the phone at this location was rude, unkind and not supportive. We will never go with Penske again. They are deceiving and not understanding. Especially in times like this, in the middle of a pandemic. My family and I moved to Wilmington because of my husband’s job during this pandemic, otherwise we would not have required to rent a truck to move. We are so disappointed.

  Brandon set up my rental and he was great to speak with, but apparently he doesn’t not work there anymore. Hopefully he moved on to a better company. I won’t be renting here again and I am sure they don’t care. I don’t leave reviews so this is a big deal for me. Had a difficult time with the manager a few weeks ago when I was speaking with him. Joe needs some lessons on customer service and seemed to argue with me about everything. His current employees are just as rude as he is. I think these employees need to be retrained if not fired.
