      EDIT: My insurance claim has been completed and PODS has decided to not pay me for any damages. If I could provide less than one star I would. This moving company was completely unprofessional and I will never use them again. They charged me roughly $150 for insurance while my goods were being transported and stored, but ultimately deemed that my goods were damaged due to "normal shifting/improper packing..." I wasn't even able to get the $150 of insurance reimbursed, so I was forced into wasting money on a lousy insurance policy. I have moved myself in a uHaul across the country twice without damaging my goods. I packed with ratchet tie down straps, rope, furniture blankets, bubble wrap, etc. I have attached images to the review for reference, but it appears the drivers or handlers of the container had no regard for the container while in transit. There is no reason a dining room table sitting upright in a container should snap in half unless the POD was dropped or tossed around. ORIGINAL: (while waiting on an insurance claim decision) I chose to use PODS because I had heard about how great their service was. Unfortunately I received my POD redelivered with numerous damaged or completely broken items and the container itself was in rather poor condition as well. My case may have been an outlier, but there was a lot of damage that was inconsistent to how PODS describes transportation and climate-controlled storage. I had a dining table and two end tables (among other damaged goods) that were snapped in half after being packed and secured with furniture blankets, bubble wrapped corners, tie downs, and rope. Additionally there was a large amount of sand and dust throughout the POD. The biggest concern regarding climate control was that I had used 3 DampRid bags to help fight humidity; each bag was full of water and had mold growing inside of them. It looked as if another 3 bags would not have been enough.

      Within 5 uses of the pods provided padlock, our key broke inside the lock. After removing the key, the lock was completely broken and did not unlock with any of our extra keys. When contacting pods, they told us that we would have to pay for our own locksmith or wait until business hours for them to remove the padlock, however we would have to pay for the labor involved. The pods customer service told me that it was our padlock now once we were given it, even though it became faulty within the first 5 uses. We had to use an outside source to remove the lock for free and had 1 less day to load our pod. I would highly recommend using your own padlock with a code or a higher quality lock.

      I used PODS for long distance moving and temporary storage. They provided great customer service from the phone sales person to the delivery drivers. Very happy with the storage, and handling of my container. Everything was in perfect condition, and nothing was damaged. The container was picked up and delivered in a very timely manner. I will definitely will recommend PODS for your moving or storage needs.
