      If you are considering using PODS for moving needs do yourself a favor and verify that they will in fact deliver to your new destination. If you do not know where you are going to ultimately land, I would reconsider using PODS. I was misled from the start about how the delivery actually worked. I paid multiple months of over priced storage to then be forced to make different arrangements to get my items to my new home. The representatives I spoke with about this massive inconvenience were neither helpful or kind, and I was offered nothing to compensate for this problem. Terrible customer service! If I could give zero stars I would, but then this review wouldn't post. I would not recommend using PODS service for anyone.

      nce we arrived at our new location, the POD was already several days overdue. We were told one morning that it was at the depot and would be delivered that day and we needed to wait for it because they were squeezing it in. We waited for most of the day outside the location in our car which was very difficult because we had no alternative. We called in the middle of the day and were told that it would likely still be delivered. When we called back, were then told that the pod wasn't really at the depot and that they had no idea where it was and when it would arrive. Days later, after receiving no updates and giving up our possessions as lost, we received an update that it would arrive for real. PODS is a disorganized mess, but the PODS drivers are heroes. Too many of the PODS support people are rude and unmotivated and there is no recourse for customers when they are treated badly on the phone. Several times were were outright lied to in order to get us off the phone, one even gave us another number to call to find our pod and it was just the fax number of the service center. We were also offered a $25 refund for the misinformation we received but that was never provided. You should seriously consider using an alternative service. We spoke to other people who used other services and they had few problems compared to us. Pay attention to the stories you find. They are not exaggerations. PODS is a terrible company to work with.

      Never in my life has a company disappointed me so immensely that I felt compelled to write a review. This will be a first. I chose PODS due to reviews about their incredible service, despite being slightly higher cost than many competitors. I believed that it was worth it for piece of my mind. So long as everything goes swimmingly in your move and there are no errors or delays, this may be true. If even the slightest thing goes off course, I hope you have a plan B because dealing with customer service after my ENTIRE POD FULL OF FURNITURE AND CLOTHING WAS DESTROYED has been abysmal. In preparing for a hospitalization, I used PODS to get my things out of my apartment as quickly as possible. For five months, they stored my things, collecting rental for the space as well as insurance in case it was damaged. I paid over $1,000 to ship my storage pod to a facility to find that my pod couldn’t be delivered to my apartment for more than six weeks. I needed to move before then, so I had to arrange to do a self-pick up with a uhaul almost an hour away from my final destination. As if this wasn’t stressful enough, I received a call the week it was shipped to tell me my pod had potentially been damaged in transit from a flood in New Jersey. They requested permission to check the unit (which they did not do) and sent a single human to inventory my things with me, without any support of movers. When I finally made it to my pod, I found that my things had been destroyed in the flood. Because they did not do the preliminary check as they said, the pod sat in water for over a week. Boots that were not even exposed to the water had mold GROWING on them, as an example. Finally, here I sit almost 6 weeks following this experience without a single piece of furniture in my new home and with just a hope I will receive even a fraction of the nearly $25,000 worth of damage. The company also intends to keep the $3,000 I spent simply storing and moving my things, though of course none of those things actually made it to my final destination. It has been nearly impossible to get in touch with PODS now that the damage has been done. All of that is to say, I would think twice before using this service.
