Precious Cargo Movers is DISHONEST and will TRY TO CHEAT YOU. I reached out to them for help moving a small sofa to a storage unit. I shared all the details of my move (including that it would be on a Friday, which will be relevant later), and they quoted me $115/hr, a two hour minimum, and a $50 transit fee. They even offered to waive the transit fee because my locations were less than 10 minutes apart. Great! I just had to take possession of the storage unit the next day and then I'd confirm with them. Right after our phone conversation, they sent me three texts confirming the details: $115/hr, $50 transit fee, and a *2 hour minimum*. Well, I got the storage unit and followed up with them. And then, after 3 days of no response, I followed up again. Finally, I got a response: Now, the guy starts telling me "because you're moving on a Friday, it's a 3 hour minimum" AND the transit fee would still apply. Excuse me?!? I can understand the transit fee, but ANOTHER $115, just to move a two-seat sofa? Already they were expensive, but this was ridiculous. They had even asked me on the phone to choose Friday, because they were free then and it didn't matter to me when I moved. I sent the guy back his own text messages, quoting "with a two hour minimum" in the two different places it said it. He didn't care. "We're not offering discounts", he said. I'm not looking for a discount, I'm only asking them to honor the (literal) quote they provided me. Precious Cargo thought they had me over a barrel-- if I was actually moving house and desperately needed movers, they would have, and I would have been forced to go with it. Instead, they lost out on two hours of pay because they thought they could squeeze me for three. I'm only writing this review because I gave the guy three different opportunities to honor the quote he gave me, and he went for the money instead. DON'T LET PRECIOUS CARGO FIND A NEW AND DIFFERENT WAY TO CHEAT YOU! There are plenty of other, cheaper, more honest movers in Atlanta. I suggest Mark the Mover or Midas Moving, depending on your needs. Edit after their response: Their mealymouthed reply is exactly what I’d expect from such a shoddily run company: several weeks late, and with a lie on their tongue. If their records indicate I moved my date, it’s because they weren’t paying attention on the first call when I clearly told them it would be on a Friday, and I only learned about the upcharge when I called to confirm because I had my doubts about them in the first place. If they don’t waive fees, perhaps they should better train their people so they don’t say they will. Avoid the headache and go with one of the other companies I mentioned above.
Response from the owner
We are sorry for your experience and for not being able to serve you. The two hour minimum was a special for M-Th moves. Our records indicate that you rescheduled your move for Friday. We also do no waive our trip fee. We hope you consider us for a future move so that you can experience the quality services this company provides.

I was totally impressed by Jackson and his team of movers at Precious Cargo. My move-out was difficult due to the size of my apartment complex-- and it was 90 degrees. The movers were fast, careful and very polite. They treated my items with care and were extremely organized. I was shocked by the very reasonable charge I got at the end! The price was lower than I anticipated even with my tip. I highly recommend Precious Cargo to anyone who expects professional service.

I used this company for a local move approximately 3 miles from the old house. The company did call and confirm twice the week of the move. The day of the move, they were supposed to arrive between 9-10 but called to advise they were running 20 minutes late. They showed up at 11:05am. After arrival and confirming the new addresses, rates, and contract they began...another 5-10 minutes. I also opted for a $10 for $100 damage/insurance incident—Thank God! After it took them about 3 hours to load a 2 bedroom apartment into the truck, and they unloaded at the new home, we noticed one of the movers rub a corner of the couch. As if there was debris...it was rips on a few of the corners. The couch is just barely 3 months old. They did not wrap the couch before loading. Let the movers know of the damage and they contacted the owner Jackson. Because of the coverage, they deducted $100 off the move. Later as we began to re-assemble to furniture, we noticed that bunk beds had a broken peg that connects the beds, which prevented it being connected top over bottom. Queen bed was missing 2 brackets used to connect foot boards to rails. I called and let Jackson know, he said that he would have the guys look in the truck. Never heard back from him...that was last Saturday and here we are 6 days later. Nothing. I ended up purchasing universal brackets from Amazon and had to wait a few days before delivery. It sucks when you pay for nice beds and mattresses and cannot use them as intended. Also, was forced to keep bunk beds separated in my kids rooms permanently. Overall, I would not recommend this company due to lack of their movers experience and the poor customer service. Pay the extra money and hire a better company. Moving is already stressful, you don’t need this extra headache that lingers.
