Cash and Wedding Ring Stolen (EDSO Case # E621-4144) We still feel very violated by Chris and Steadfast Movers. This case is an ongoing investigation although we know we will never recover our losses. We hired Steadfast to move furniture and belongings from a 4 BR house into 4 PODS storage containers. We had among our possessions a vintage upright piano and a billiards table. All of which Chris stated would be crated and professionally moved – they never were at all. Our crew – lets just call them the “2nd chance crew” for now, proved to be not worth 5 stars. On the first day of work for boxing up the house we were supposed to have 5 workers but only 3 actually showed up. During the day, my wife found 6 envelopes hidden around the house in various locations, all containing some cash. She partially counted the money and it was in excess of $6500. At the end of the day, packing had not been completed as expected cause of the shortage of workers. We payed for the days work in cash that we brought expressly for the move at the “cash” rate they offer and for the amount of labor hours for a crew of 3. The next day, 5 individuals showed up to work, only 2 of which were at our house the day before – the crew lead and one other individual. The remaining 3 crew members were new to us and were not experienced movers but were brought in to try to complete the job. The crew lead mostly dedicated himself to loading the PODS while the rest rushed out boxes from the day before and started packed up the remaining items that didn’t get completed the previous day. After we got all that we could get loaded into the PODS we were all settling down to complete the paperwork, pay and all go on our way. As we knew we would not have enough on hand to pay for the work done, we were going to have to dip into the vintage cash we found to pay the bill at the lower CASH rate. When my wife went to retrieve the cash from where it was tucked away, the envelopes were all still there, but ALL of the cash was missing. We called the police and Chris, the owner. He agreed to come out. The El Dorado County Sheriffs showed up and the first question they asked was “Who is on parole?” We were a little surprised when several echoed that they were – this was never disclosed to us. The crew were searched and their vehicles too and, of course, nothing was found. While the searching was going on, my wife noticed that her engagement ring was also missing. In talking to Chris AFTER the police and crew all left, I asked him how many of his crew were on parole. His answer was only “everyone deserves a second chance”. I wish WE had a 2nd chance to have picked a mature, responsible company first instead of one that hires workers who are not at all vetted properly or are accountable for their actions. Steadfast sure will not make you whole for any losses. Don’t trust your stuff to the “2nd Chance Crew” movers. Call someone who will do it right the first time. Chris did offer to help me search my shrubs and bushes for the cash and ring….. What kind of help is that?!? Thanks, but that’s a level of customer service I don’t want to ever experience again. P.S. We had to hire another company to repack our PODS. The stuff Steadfast loaded was not secure at all! Stuff not blanketed or crated and seemingly just tossed in the pods. After seeing a desk stacked on top of another piece of furniture with no padding between them, and seeing a chair teetering on top of boxes ABOVE 2 plates of table top glass that had only 1 blanket of padding between them, we knew that Steadfast was the WORSE choice we could have ever made to move our house.

I cannot say enough GREAT THINGS about this company. They came to my rescue when I needed to downsize and move my mom to memory care with very little notice. They were professional, fast, and friendly. Best of all, they helped me tremendously by taking the stuff that my mom no longer had room for. In a very stressful time, they were rock stars!!!

First and foremost I am so disgusted 3 came with a smaller truck due to the original breaking down. The movers where late and when they arrived they BROKE my glass table into pieces and on top of that had terrible work efficiency they where present from 10:45-3 ish and they didn’t have the move even close to being completed. They where upset with being told about the work they where providing and started arguing with my whole family present!!! Seriously think before hiring this company terrible experience not to mention the job was not completed and we had to move on our own! Beware!!!
