  Rented a storage unit for a while. I was never late on payment until I got covid and was hospitalized. The GM, Ben Dooley has terrible customer service and the other employees will refuse to let you speak to him. Actually Ben himself refused to speak to me directly. One of the workers called him to talk to him and he said he had no need to speak with me. I still have never talked to this guy. His emails say please call to discuss. But he will refuse to speak with you and you will not be transferred to him. I will never do any business with them again.What kind of GM won’t talk to there customers. Come on, learn some customer service skills and take less care of your man bun!

  This was the absolust worst rental truck experience. We ordered a 20’ truck WEEKS ago - yet the staff waited until ONE HOUR before pickup to let us know it wasn’t available any where in Lynchburg and we’d have to drive 30 miles to pick one up, pay for the gas, and cover the mileage too. Since we weren’t about to give any more money to your company, we downgraded to a 15’ truck but then had to make multiple trips and pay for a bit more gas anyway. This was ridiculously unprofessional of the staff (they said they called at 12:30 that day- i have no record in my missed calls and they didn’t leave a message - but even then it was only 5 hours notice). There needs to be a better way of updating people that their request is not available: we would’ve gone with another company rather than doing the 15’ if we’d had enough time which is why I’m assuming we weren’t updated - again, SUPER unprofessional.

  Didn't have the truck size we rented even though we confirmed the day before. The manager did not care; as he came from brunch to his office without even a pause when our situation was explained, he said, "It is what it is," and kept walking to his office. Did not honor the $50 guarantee because they were able to send us off with a bigger truck -- but that was not a win for us as it was way more than what we needed and cost us $600 in gas to drive from Virginia to Oklahoma with a half empty truck that still cost us $700 to rent. Also, even though the seats were comfortable and made for long distance, it was so loud in the cab. The young guy working the store was super nice but without the manager's support could not do anything for us -- he tried. This may just be how uhaul is because they know they have one-way rentals between a rock and a hard place (we had flown out). If we had it to do over again, we would NOT use this location and would seriously look into other options than u-haul.
