    I truly appreciate how hard A1 worked to get my move done in a timely manner. David and Maurice was very professional and efficient. They treated my belongings as if they were their own. The office staff provide me with a fast accurate quote for my move. There were no extra unexpected charges at the end. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a stress free move!

    One of the movers from this company broke one of our televisions in the move and in their physical review of the damage, A-1 has decided that they will not take responsibility for it because the "chain of custody" was broken on the item. We are not the type of customers (or human beings!) who would break something and blame it on the movers, so I am disappointed that one of our TVs was broken in this move and we will have to expend the cost to replace it. They are a budget moving service, so you get what you pay for. The young men were pleasant and polite, but they did not take the care I would have expected with our belongings. We let a lot of small items go (their representation that our bed could not be reassembled, a broken leg on our dining room table that they said they did not break, but I saw them struggling with the table when I looked through the window, a corner of our buffet cracked) because some of our furniture is older, but the TV that was broken was not one of them. The young men were angling for a tip (which they did not get), to the point of misrepresenting to my husband that I asked them to wait so they could be tipped (when I asked them to wait so he could go thru a 2nd walkthrough). Given how hard this job is and how little we imagine movers are paid, we first thought we should rethink the tip and find a way to get one to them, but after this experience, NOT tipping was the right decision. I would not recommend this company, nor would I use them in any subsequent move and I will also file a complaint with the BBB. Lessons learned . . .

    Hi Dora, I just left your home and reviewed this issue. Upon calling you stated there was damage to your TV and that the crew and you did several walk throughs and it wasn't noticed multiple times as you and crew walked around the house. After the last walk through you signed the bill of lading and signed under the words in big bold letters there was no damage. You stated on the call your husband didn't notice any damage to the TV and didn't know anything about it. You also stated the crew unwrapped the TV and left it horizontal on its own legs on the counter facing the entire room. I stated I would come take a look at it. Once I arrived and started to investigate the issue you stated your husband moved the TV from the original location we put it to another location. Then you moved it from the location your husband put it to the location where I was looking at it. You then said you called your husband and he said " he didn't see any damages to the TV when he moved it yesterday". I took a close look at the chain of events and they are as follows. We completed your move on December 15th being Wednesday we did multiple walk throughs of the home and you signed saying there was no damages done at all. Per what you explained to me your husband moved the TV on December 16th being Thursday " and didn't see the unmistakably huge crack that was present today" on December 17th being Friday. You then stated that the huge crack wasn't noticed by anyone until after it was moved today. From the pictures you posted everyone can see the crack is about 2 to 3 inches long. And in the shape of a thumb print from someone picking up the TV from the bottom with their thumb on the screen using to much pressure. I then show you how it was done so you could understand what I was talking about . I then noted the TV was packed and wrapped in a thick box material, foam and bubble wrap. I wouldn't have been able to sustain that damage in the packaging. I also mentioned that it was was unwrapped and left on the counter in plain view of the entire room. This is the middle floor kitchen counter in front of the steps leading upstairs and downstairs. And the TV was there in plain view for about a full day facing out so you always have a clear direct look at the screen as you go up or downstairs. Or when you have to walk into the kitchen area. The size of the cracked screen couldn't have been missed. You stated after I said I was confident that we didn't damage the TV there was damage to the corner of a piece of furniture but that wasn't a concern to you just the TV. My team documented and made you aware of all previous damage before they moved the furniture. We completed 3 to 4 walk throughs of the home with you after we where done and no damage was seen before you signed the bill of lading and the additional note in bold letters saying there was no damage. I can't full explain what happened with the TV. From what you stated to me about what your husband told you the TV had no damage to it at all before he moved it to the second location. Which is a day after we completed the move. Which would mean the TV was damaged on the later part of Thursday or Friday not Wednesday.

    The movers were professional and very efficient! With 3 people, they unloaded my truck in less than the allotted time and I was able to get on with my unpacking. I will totally use A-1 again for my next move.
