I got several moving quotes from different companies. Allied was the highest quote, however I had such a great experience with the sales consultant that I felt more confident using Allied since they were a large reputable company. I lived in a single bedroom apartment with minimal furniture because I dumped all of my stuff when I moved previously and the guys who came to move me out complained about how much stuff I had (even though it’s all in the quote), that my bed was too big (I have a queen with a platform), that there was only one elevator in my building, and had no idea where to park even though the sales consultant told me they had moved people from my building several times. These guys also did not know that they didn’t need to pack me up. They took 2.5 hours just to move my couch and a few boxes. They smelled so bad that I was afraid I was going to get a citation from my apartments for smoking even though I am a non-smoker. The first thing one of the guys did was take a dump in my newly cleaned bathroom. They smelled of smoke and body odor and this was their first move of the day. It was obvious they hadn’t showered in days. They took several smoke breaks, and I had to call the company to ask about the time it was taking to move my stuff because we had a 7 Hour drive ahead of us. I have moved many times in the past and it has never taken that long and I had less stuff than I’ve ever had! When I called the company they were very nice and handled it quickly, the guys sped up but after four hours all of my stuff was in the alley lined up behind the truck when I left. The guys were very nice, however I just don’t think they knew what they were doing. My mother saw them get very frustrated with my couch and throw it into the crate finally. Additionally, I was told that I would not have to pay until receipt of my things. However, that was not true and they require full payment before they will even consider delivering your stuff. So presumably my stuff was sitting in a warehouse in my destination city until I paid. So I paid immediately upon realization of this rule that I was not told of, and then a week later I called because I hadn’t heard anything about the status of my delivery and the lady on the phone had no idea I had paid it last week, even though I sent her a copy of the receipt. Additionally, I never received any notification of when I would get a delivery or delivery time even though I was told previously that I would have a 24-48 hour lead time. I had to call multiple times to gently ask questions as reminders and clarification. If I had not called them, they would not have delivered my things when they did because she didn’t know I had paid. I should not have had to initiate that conversation. The men who moved my things in to my new apartment were efficient and very nice. They were affiliated directly with Coleman Allied. But they also made comments about how the crate was put in backwards by the previous men (from Triple A moving which is Allied’s Alaska branch) and several comments about how it was obvious that those guys did not know what they were doing previously. I have moved several times, and moving is always a nightmare, but this was a less than ideal experience. I was very disappointed because I went with a more reputable company and felt like I paid more and did not get the service that I had bargained for. I did get my stuff on time but that was because of my own initiative. After this experience, I’m not sure that I would go with Allied again.

Allied did an OK job. The pickup was excellent. They packed everything well and without supervision. Similarly they loaded efficiently and were pleasant. The drop off was a challenge. The crew consisted of the driver (who just helps pass boxes down from the truck), and two guys. One was pretty experienced while the other was brand new and didn't do anything. I ended up moving many more things than he, which is fine I guess but if I'm doing it what do I need him for... At any rate while I was taking the boxes in to the rooms they belonged to, the guys were just putting them in the drive and garage. When I asked them to move certain boxes with labels to certain rooms (Allied had written on them to make unloading easier I guess) they said OK and then just kept on doing what they were already doing. It came to a head when I asked them to carry the bed from the garage to the bedroom, which they weren't going to do. Wouldn't put the bed frame or any of the furniture back together, tho I'm not sure if they usually do that or not. I have moved the boxes from the garage into the house myself. I think the quality of the crew has a lot of variation.

After being delayed three different times, the wrong trailer arrived which delays us again. Are furniture is supposed to arrive tomorrow which is amazing, however surprised you would want a survey when I haven’t received my furniture yet. Communication has been good for pickup, but since then has been okay after everyone left when we had the wrong trailer I had to reach out to the company to find out what was going on. If things go good tomorrow I would be willing to reassess my experience but today I am more than displeased with what has happened for the amount of money I have spent.
