Our move was on November 11th, but I’am just getting around to doing this review. We chose Allied Movers because we had used them 5 years ago for the same move in reverse. Moved from NC to SC this time. Evidently the Greensboro NC location is not nearly as good as the Charleston SC location. They charged us over $5500.00 for this move that we paid approximately $2800.00 for last time. No one was in charge of this move. Usually they have a team leader. Upon their arrival they told us that we had to go to the store and buy more boxes and bubble wrap to pack our lamps. I purposely called the move coordinator before the move to ask what to do with the lamps. I was told that they had a place on the truck for them. Not so! For some reason our dressers were turned either on their sides or upside down. Everything inside the drawers was mixed up into the adjacent drawers. What a mess! The movers had started a “parts” box with the hardware and screws from the furniture legs etc. They forgot to bring it to the new location so they weren’t able to put certain furniture back together. When I first called Allied they sent someone (David) to access the move and give us an estimate. The man who came did a thorough job itemizing everything. He told me that he tended to estimate on the high side and that we would probably be getting money back as they would weigh the truck before and after the move. Over the next few weeks we decided to sell or donate several large items and we assumed that was going to make the actual weight less from the estimated. No one ever contacted us about the weight and my husband had to call several times to inquire about this. We were told after the move that the weight was actually over what David had estimated which is impossible because we got rid of things. Not exactly sure how this could be possible. Lastly after the movers had completed loading the truck we were told that they were going to head right to the new house. This was a total surprise to us as we were told the delivery would be within the next 3 days. Which we were fine with. They asked if we could meet them and if this was alright. We only agreed because they said they would just sleep in the truck and wait for us to come in a day or two as originally expected. Feeling guilty we went but it was a huge inconvenience. One might think oh that’s great but it wasn’t what we were told. My husband had car trouble that afternoon and we still had many loose ends to tie up in town but instead we had to drive 3 hours that night. I definitely would not hire or recommend this Greensboro location. For what they charged us the move was more of an inconvenience then anything. Hiring movers should make your move go smoothly and less stressful but this experience was a mess! Very unsatisfied!

Movers agreed to use masks during all preliminary conversations including tagging day but on loading day they showed up without masks and were downright hostile against wearing masks. They broke down my furniture into so many pieces in order to load them that they busted wood glue and broke apart things that were never intended to be broken down. They were so careless in handling my items that it was devastating.
