We used Allied Van Lines for our move from Lisle, IL to Indianapolis in July/August. We purchased a full service move to include disassembly of certain pieces and packing all items in the house. Because there was a two week gap between leaving one residence and moving into our new home, we used Allied’s storage facility. We were happy with the care used in initially packing our belongings and loading them on the truck. Our positive experience ended there. The rest of the services, including the storage and delivery to our new address was a nightmare. On the scheduled day to deliver our belongings to our new home, they showed up with three movers and large moving truck full of someone else’s possessions. They had to drive back to Illinois and return the next day with our stuff. On the second day, they only had two movers and were having to make two deliveries that day. They did not show up until 11:30. Our possessions alone would take a full day for two people to move into our home. It was clear these movers were overwhelmed by the quantity of the work. They did not move boxes into the rooms marked on the boxes, but simply dumped them into the closest areas which represented our living room and garage, forcing us to move heavy boxes to the right locations ourselves. The pieces that required disassembly when initially packed were carried into the home. Only a couple of items were re-assembled and those were done poorly. It was clear the movers were in a hurry to get to the second location and practically ran out of the house indicating all the work had been completed. Numerous items were damaged by both the movers and the storage facility, including several antique pieces. Many valuables were removed from their original packaging and dumped into a large box along with garage tools and other equipment. When I called the consultant that scheduled our move, Paul Rubinsak, he indicated he would find some additional staff to immediately show up and help us with the move. This was confirmed by the branch manager, Joe Friedman. No one ever came and we were left to do the work. We spent the next several months trying to make contact with Mr. Friedman to address these issues by both phone and email, only to have our attempts completely ignored. We purchased insurance through Allied and submitted a claim for the damaged items, only to have many of the claims denied. We are still working on an appeal six months later. My advice is to run away from Allied as fast as you can. If I could rate them less than zero, I certainly would. We used Atlas Van Lines for a similar move to Lisle in 2017 and had a very professional and positive experience. I would recommend Atlas or United before using Allied. Addendum 4/13/22 - Shortly after I posted this review, the company responded that someone from customer service would reach out to me to address my concerns. We are now three months later and no one ever attempted to contact me. Another example of the poor customer service and responsiveness provided by Allied.

I will be using Allied for any move!! These guys have been amazing every step of the way. The quoted price was EXACTLY what I ended up paying. No surprises. My stuff all made it to the house - Not damaged. Tim and Ryan were the movers and they were amazing. Very polite, and Tim was a master truck driver - he backed up the huge semi down our street!! I received a call the day before the move and the day before the drop off to confirm. Anything they were not Sure where it went - my husband or I was asked. Overall - top notch service. Will use again on our next move!!!

Frank was the most friendly and professional person to deal with. He stayed in contact with me and showed up when he said he would. The crews he used were very hard workers and took care with my household items. I would highly recommend this company and especially Frank. Thank you for our successful move.
