      DO NOT USE BELLHOP! With the exception of the cheap quote and the movers themselves, pretty much everything about our Bellhop move was terrible. Bellhop's quote was significantly lower than other national moving companies, but saving $1,000-$1,500 on the move was NOT worth it! The loaders, driver, and unloaders were friendly and worked steadily and quickly. I assumed that they were the professionals, so I was hands-off and just let them do their thing. But, honestly, I think that the loaders weren't adequately trained to properly load a truck, let alone a truck for an 500+ mile interstate move. And Bellhop is merely a broker. They just provide t-shirts to these local movers. It seems that they don’t properly vet the teams that they work with to ensure that they know what they’re doing. In transit, almost every piece of furniture that we had was damaged and some were completely destroyed. Only a couple of our pieces were wrapped in blankets and those were only partially wrapped. Nothing was secured to the truck and items toppled over all over the back of the truck. Additionally, our two carbon fiber bikes were crushed under our sofa with damage to the bike frames. The claim process was super frustrating. I received zero contact from Bellhop regarding our claim. I had to call Bellhop customer service numerous times in order to speak with someone about our claim. And then I received weeks of no contact from them. And again I had to contact Bellhop about the claim. It always seemed that my claims person was unavailable. After all of that they offered us ≈$750 for our claim. The bicycles alone are several thousand dollars.

Preventing damages is a critical focus of our Operations Team. Due to this, we shared this feedback with the Market Manager to ensure the mover’s performance improves for the future. Our system reflects that you accepted the damage settlement offer proposed by our Claims Team. We apologize that you were not satisfied with the compensation. We compensate for damages based on each item’s moving industry standard weight, calculated at .60/lb as stated in our Terms of Service.       I’ve now moved twice with bellhop and both times have been a success. The movers came and loaded everything up quickly and efficiently and in a way so that nothing broke during the move. And they are always on time, both for picking up and delivering the furniture. Bellhop has by far the best turn around time for a move than any company I’ve worked with prior. They picked up my furniture from my apartment in Chicago on a Thursday morning and I had everything loaded in my new apartment in Boston by Saturday afternoon. A lot of other companies told me it would take 2 weeks to deliver but it only took Bellhop 2 days. If I ever move again, I’d use Bellhop.

      Bellhops moved my company. A midsized company, we moved out of a building we had occupied for over 30 years. The guys were all super respectful and never stopped working. For 8 hours straight they just kept moving. They never lost any energy, and kept super positive attitudes through what was a tedious day. Cannot say enough about how helpful, respectful, and focused these guys were. Would highly recommend.
