  Didn’t call me back as they said they would. People get busy, and so I wasn’t that upset, but when I called back, some hobo-sounding guy “Bruce” was so rude and incompetent I decided to leave a review after all. He wasn’t just rude, actually, he was angry and aggressive. He was aggressive in three comments in a short interaction, and when I pointed out he got the day wrong, he went off on me, and I had to hang up. So not only did they (a) not have the truck, (b) not call me back, (c) talk to me about the wrong date, they had to top that off by literally YELLING at me. Terrible.

  The customer service here is outstanding. I couldn’t even get responses from other Budget truck rental establishments in my area and it was worth going 30 minutes out of my way to rent from this location. The owner took quite a bit of time going over how the truck and the trailer worked and made me feel very comfortable driving cross country with a large rental van towing my car. I recommend this location!

  Have rented cars and trucks for over 15 years and have never encountered agents as thorough and informative as the Platte City Budget folks. PROs: Platte City agent went out of her way to call and ask if our auto insurance covers rental trucks over 10K (greatly appreciated). She also corrected a second booking that was made when pads were added to our reservation. She went over contract very thoroughly, pointing out potential charges (early turn-in, pads not folded or stacked in piles, gas not refilled, etc). She walked around truck with me, noting even the smallest scratches/dents so charges would not occur on other end. She cautioned me about weigh stations and told me best practice would be to go through them and be waived on if not required. She told me to save till receipts and not use toll box in truck. CONs: In our initial conversation reference insurance, I asked if anything else was needed and she told me there was a exclusion form to complete upon arrival. I also asked if I needed to bring proof of insurance, our policy or anything else and was told no. Upon arrival, was questioned repeatedly about insurance from both parties in the office. Felt pressure was being applied to buy Budget's insurance coverage. Since I continued to reassure them we were covered, began completing exclusion form which required recontacting insurance because, as agent stated, only they could provide the answers needed to complete it. Rented truck on Tuesday and used my bank card (because of amount, potential fraud detection; agent was patient through this process). Finally got truck rented and headed on my way. On Friday, secondary charge of 50.00 showed up on initial card used for reservation (reported as fraud). Agents on final end (Humble, TX) were very friendly and helpful.
