    I feel totally and absolutely taken advantage of. I went with this company because of all the good reviews. I moved from a second floor apartment to a one story home. The distance was 2.8 miles for travel. Everything was boxed, beds taken apart, 2 bedroom apartment. The move shouldn't of taken more than 4 hours max, they took their sweet time, took my 5 person sectional completely apart which was 100% not necessary. And I'm not talking about breaking it down into the 3 sections, they took the back off of each seat. On top of wasting time taking the couch apart way further then needed. They came up with some excuse telling me, that because the distance was so short, that it would be "quicker" to load all the boxes, and then move that, then come back for a very small load of furniture. Because they didn't want to "unstack" the boxes so the rest of the furniture would fit in one trip. I went with what they said because they are the "professionals". But when I saw the truck right before they left with the first trip, it was clear to me that everything would of easily fit in one trip. I didn't say anything, because after all they had all my belongings, and I didn't want anything further broken or missing. Yes they broke a piece off of one of my night stands while loading it up. After all of this, I was charged for 5 1/2 hours. Because they played me by telling me it would be quicker to do two trips. Not only that, the next day I found one of my wood framed mirrors left outside, propped up against the garage door, along with the sliding piece for a cat door to be locked. These items were NOT there when I shut the door. So they must of gotten left in the truck. So instead of knocking on the door, and giving them to me, they left them outside, which they could of been stolen or damaged by weather or sprinklers. Over all i would never recommend them to anyone. I don't know how there is 60 something reviews and all 5 stars. I know for a fact I was played as I have moved many times prior, and know how long it should take to move my stuff. I moved from Brickell, on the 11th floor, to Davie, which is about 45 min away, that only took 4 1/2 hours. How these movers took 5 and 1/2 hours to move 2.8 miles, is beyond me! The sad part is, they took their sweet time at the end acting like I should of tipped them. Ha sorry but after playing me for extra time on the clock for yourself, your not getting a tip from me. This is the first time I did not tip my movers. If the owner cares about their customers at all, highly suggest something is done to correct this horrible experience. UPDATE - A FEW WEEKS AFTER MOVING - After reaching out to the company. This is the owner davidlee's response. "You were charged 5.25 hours but you believe it should have taken only 4 hours. We will refund you the 1.25 hours. 119 x 1.25 = 148.75. We saw your picture of the damaged item. We will come pick the piece up and repair it or pay you $50 and you can have it repaired. Which ever you prefer. About the mirror and cat door. It was left on our truck by mistake. We had our driver bring it back that evening after his other job was finished. He arrived at your house around 7pm. He knocked and saw that there were lights on in the house but nobody came to the door so he left it outside. He should have called us and told us you didn't answer so we could have called you but he didn't. He was reprimanded for not doing so." I told him I would UPDATE the review to reflect the TRUTH. told him I would not take a brib to delete the truth. Have not heard from him since. NO REFUND HAS BEEN ISSUED. BEWARE!! I soley choose this company based on good reviews. The owner pays customer who have bad experiences to delete reviews!!!

    You can't please everyone. Some people are just negative, manipulative, unreasonable and enjoy writing bad reviews for companies that don't deserve them. Take a minute to click on her profile and read the other reviews she wrote and you will see for yourself. We call every customer the day after their move to get feedback and resolve any issues. We called her the next day but she didn't answer so we left a message for her to call us. Instead, 6 days after her move she wrote this review. She claims this move should have taken 4 hours max. The phone estimate we gave her was 3 - 5 hours depending on how much she actually had. We told her it could be + or - a little. Her move took 5.25 hours not 5.5 like she says here. Therefore we were dead on her estimate. If she thought it should have taken 4 hours max she should have chose a company who guaranteed it not to exceed 4 hours. She says it was 100% not necessary to remove the backs from her sectional couch. I guess she doesn't know that sofa manufacturers make them this way so they can be moved with less chance of damaging them. She was on the second floor with several turns and railings so we took them off for her benefit not so we could charge her more time. This only takes a couple minutes to do anyway. Apparently her previous movers didn't know this either and took a chance of damaging it getting it up 2 flights without doing so. All professional movers do this. We did her move in two trips and we agree that it would have fit in one load. However, according to MapQuest it's a 4.5 mile drive that takes 10 minutes to get to her new home. Going there and back adding 20 minutes to the time and cost her $39. Trying to fill every hole and making it all fit on one load would have easily added an hour ($119) to her bill. We told her it would save money to do it in two trips and it saved her $80! Also we had another job to do after hers and I can promise you we weren't "taking our sweet time" so we can charge her more. Because of our excellent reputation we turn down jobs because we are completely booked on a daily basis. We have more than enough work. BTW.... besides our 60+ all 5 star reviews in North Port, We won the Best of Sarasota Award in 2014, 2015 and 2016. No other company can say that! About the nightstand she claims we damaged. It was damaged before we ever got there. When we picked it up the piece just fell off. The broken piece was just barely hanging on. It may have been damaged on her previous move and the movers didn't tell her. You don't break something just by picking it up unless it was staged. We immediately told her about it before taking it out of the apartment. When we got to our second job we did find part of a cat door and a small mirror that we left on our truck by mistake. Both of these were about the size of a piece of paper. We took the items back to her after our second job. We knocked on the door but she didn't answer so it was left outside by the door. My employee should have told us she didn't answer so we could have called her but he didn't. He was reprimanded for not doing so even though she received them undamaged the next morning. She claims, she was "played." I wonder why she didn't use the mover she chose last time if they did so good? Even though we did NOTHING wrong on her move and NO damages were caused by us, we didn't like that she was unhappy. We decided to give her EVERYTHING she complained about to make her happy. We offered to pick up the damaged piece that we didn't damage, have it fixed and return it to her or pay her $50 so she could have it fixed herself and return 1.25 hours or 148.75 because she "thinks" it should have not taken more than 4 hours for 2 guys to move a 2 bedroom on the second floor. This was a total of 198.75 even though we did nothing wrong. She agreed to take the money but said she would not remove her review of "what happened." I have been nothing but cordial to her but like I said you cant please everyone!

    This company was truly a pleasure to work with. They arrived a couple of minutes early, and got right to work. We walked through the house and talked about what was going where. I asked them to load several boxes and other things in my car, which they did. Anything I asked them to do was done exactly how I wanted. They treated my stuff carefully and yet were very quick. At the new place, they placed my stuff exactly where I wanted. The office people were also a pleasure. I changed my moving date twice due to problems with Home Depot carpet installers, and Family Movers were flexible and understanding. I can't say enough good things about this company, and believe me, I'm pretty picky. I have highly recommended Family Movers to neighbors and will continue to do so. Oh, and they also had a minimum time frame of three hours, versus 4 hours for other local companies. So great price and even better service.

    We used Family Moving to move our condo contents to storage. Will and Les our movers, were polite, courteous and fun. They took great care with all our possessions and were very professional. They never took a break and worked quickly and carefully during the entire move. There were no surprise charges and we plan on using Family Moving LLC again when we move into our home. We highly recommend this Company and would suggest you look no further than them for your moving needs. We feel they are simply the BEST! Tom
