The movers themselves were good. However, customer service leaves a lot to be desired. We signed an agreement (and expected to pay extra) for 3 movers, but only 2 showed up. Had to get the charges adjusted. We only needed help unloading furniture but the invoice included a truck. We asked about this, as well as being charged for moving a full rather than small piano... response was curt and we were told we had to pay for the truck regardless (even though it wasn’t brought to the site) and no response about the piano. We will go with another company next time.

This was my first and last experience with movers. Currently 7 months pregnant and I was helping the 2 movers up 4 flights of stairs. I reserved my day and time for 11 and they didn’t show until 11:45. Then when they arrived only one guy was loading the truck at first while the other stayed outside. Then when we got to the second location they we’re complaining about the 4 flights of stairs and how they need 3 people and if I can call someone to help. Then towards the end one guy sat in the truck stalling. My deposit was $338 and my final balance was $845 which was totally shocking. I have never felt so ripped off. I didn’t have no heavy furniture. They didn’t have to take down nothing. They didn’t assemble anything that was asked . Then I was threatened with court and the police when my card was declined. Then was told they can’t leave while my bill still goes up.

Where do I begin with my experience with Gentle Movers.... I scheduled use of this company given my need for storage of my furniture overnight before I was able to get into my new apartment. When confirming dates and availability I confirmed two men and the truck, I also confirmed to have both of my moves be morning moves between the hours of 8-10am. This was as well confirmed in my paperwork, apparently this still does not guarantee this time frame for you.... On the first day they arrived at 4pm to my apartment. Two men arrived, one of the men, this was his very first day as a mover. We began to bring boxes down to their truck when I realized that the man, whose first day it was could barely lift anything. He dropped multiple boxes which were fragile in nature. Once all boxes were down they went on to bring down the furniture. It took them 45 minutes to bring my couch down three flights of stairs into the truck as the man who was new could not lift/ hold the couch. Given this my boyfriend and I helped them move the remainder of the furniture down the stairs as he couldn't lift nor take direction from his coworker on how to hold things! Finally with all furniture down and in the truck, I was hit with an additional charge of an hour and a half because of needing to help move everything and also hit with additional fees that were not communicated. For example the use of shrink wrap on the couch, duck tape, paper to cover the nightstands...etc. I called the company to speak to the manager Abyh on the fact that I was paying for two movers and only had one capable man and how they could resolve this and he was extremely rude and proceeded to tell me that "if I helped move all of my furniture, then why did I hire movers in the first place?". The conversation ended with him saying that I "knew what I signed up for" and that I will not be getting a refund. On the day they came to deliver my furniture after storing overnight, the movers did not come in the morning once again. However all goods arrived undamaged (minus some dirt on the sofa from being in the truck) and it was different men from my first experience who came to bring everything in to my new apartment. I would highly suggest for anyone looking for movers in the Boston area to NOT use them as a company. The customer support is terrible and they are sneaky with the additional charges and fees that they will add.
