I submitted a review that was sent to my personal email for the company, but no one ever got back to me after that. Anyway, I thought I could at least share my honest review for people to do with what they wish. There are things about this company that were great, namely Rudy (GM) and Kristie (VP?). The man who delivered our belongings was wonderful as well (Billie I believe). They were the only positive part of our experience. We moved from Colorado to a nearby state earlier this summer, and my husband and I had about a week to settle in before starting new careers. We made this known when looking for companies. When quoted for our move, we were told that the "delivery date would be significantly whittled down" from the two week span we were initially given, and that to whittle it down, we needed to sign and book the move officially. We've never used a moving company prior, so we did so (in hindsight, a bit naive). The quality of packing was terrible, and there isn't really another way to put it. It truly looked like someone walked through the house and yard and chucked things in a box. There were flower pots with dirt in it in the box with our master bath towels and a canvas painting. Absolutely no rhyme or reason, and rooms were definitely not packed together. Random bolts were thrown into the bottom of an office box. I still have no idea where several things went (trashcan, shower curtain, half of a scentsy base??). I'm assuming there was. a box somewhere that didn't get unloaded. LONG story short, our things didn't arrive until the exact two week mark. Trying to get in touch with our coordinator was a nightmare until legitimately the last 24 hours prior to our things arriving. We were given about a 4 hour window to pay "or our belongings could be withheld", and our coordinator disappeared from both us and the GM of the company after sending the email. I panicked and contacted the GM, who was kind enough to show us how to pay online. The coordinator was very responsive the day our things arrived, but it's a bit late at that point after weeks of begging for our things. I know it's been busy and they have to coordinate drivers, but good gracious it's frustrating when you've booked two months in advance and weren't given an honest assessment of a timeline. Especially in a time as high-stress as this one. This was our first company experience, and I honestly know it would have been easier if we'd just done it ourselves. We're both healthcare workers and really just wanted to treat ourselves to a less-stressful move after the last 1.5 years, but that's definitely not our experience. Just keep those things in mind when reviewing.

I cannot begin to describe how poor my experience with Golden Vanlines was. My earthly belonging were treated with no care and immense disrespect. The team was unprofessional who both packed and loaded my belongings. Nothing was actually packed, no wrapping or cushion everything was literally thrown into wardrobe boxes and taped shut. The damage was in the tens of thousand dollars. I am even missing several items. Their inventory systems only works if the people doing it are performing it correctly. It was so poor that the owner of the company had to write me an apology letter and suspend the team who performed the pack and load. A moving company is supposed to make a move easier, it is literally their one job. You had one job and failed. They first sent a gentleman, who made me feel like I could trust the company out to assess the move. I know now it was a sales pitch and they do not perform the work as they said they would and are not true to their word. In closing, find someone better. There are much better companies out there. I honestly would not trust them to move trash to the dump. Update: While some of the things the owner replied are true. This is the exact platform I should use to review a company of which I am either satisfied or unsatisfied with. Money and replacement DOES NOT mean I should not share my experience. I would have preferred all of my belongings made it to their location in their original state. Their quality team telling me to “ Please try to let this go as you enjoy the things you like.” was hard to do when I was missing items to be able to do this. It took me 8 months to write this review because of how upset I was with the entire ordeal. I am always open to discussion the owner could contact me directly.
Response from the owner
Mr. Gaydos, We are disappointed that you have chosen to use this platform versus working directly with our company to resolve any outstanding issues you experienced during your relocation, which occurred over 8 months ago. After reviewing your file, I see a Quality Control Representative contacted you immediately after you voiced your concerns. You were provided with a 24-hour resolution phone number (to which we responded to on several occasions to assist you.) Immediately after your shipment was delivered, we presented you with a monetary compensation to help you and your family with any out-of-pocket expenses that you may have incurred. Your employer had chosen to use a claims service that is not affiliated with our company to handle all claims for repairs and replacement of items that may have been damaged during your relocation. Based on all correspondence, you personally have signed off stating that the full and final settlement (which is largely different from the amount you stated in your review) was agreeable. The release settlement that you signed verifies that you agreed that you had been fairly and fully compensated for any and all damages, repairs or replacements on your claim. Additionally, you agreed that the settlement satisfied all out-of-pocket expenses and services provided by the company that handled your claim. Unlike many companies in the moving business, we follow-up when a service failure occurs, and we ensure that the customer’s issues have been properly and fairly managed. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly in the future, as it is a more efficient way for us to manage and provide you the assistance you may require. Wishing you and your family a prosperous and healthy 2021.

After living in Longmont for over 32 years, we somewhat unexpectedly decided to move to Missouri. We were stressed about the move and really didn't know how it was all supposed to work. From the first phone call I made until the final box was put in our new home, the folks at Golden Van Lines took incredible care of us. Based on experiences that some of our friends have had with other movers, our expectations were low. But they didn't need to be. Golden was there every step of the way, answering our questions and treating us like family. Our initial quote was spot on and the tips John gave me when we walked through the house we moved out of were invaluable. The guys (Dustin and his crew) worked their butts off both loading and unloading the truck - and they treated both homes AND our belongings like they were their own. Needless to say, Golden exceeded all of our expectations and then some. I even got a personal call a few days after our stuff was delivered to make sure everything went according to plan. No damage and nothing broken...my wife and I are SO glad we went with Golden!
Response from the owner
Hi Larry- Wow, thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience with us! We are so glad that we were able to help. I will be sure to pass along your message to the crew you worked with. Thank you again for the support and kind words! Enjoy your new home!
